Thanks for the feedback, guys :). The patch walkthrough demo only showcases what I thought were the highlights in the pack. There's quite a few more goodies in there.

It's always an honor to write demo tracks for talented sound designer like Bryan. The sounds are truly inspiring. I wrote demo tracks for "Fear and Horror" also. Apocalyptic Vision complements F&H very well. If you have F&H, you must get this one too just to have the complete set. Even if you don't have F&H, this one can still stand on its own.

Adding those small notes to each sound was truly an innovating idea. It really adds to the experience. It inspired me to great extent.
I know it was designed to be kind of an all-round sound set, but as a suggestion, the music box, church bell and such -type of things I personally found a bit redundant in the sound set. I mean, if you're composing for horror or create something influenced by such atmospheres, you'll usually own sampled libraries with round robins and whatnot, which are pretty much bound to sound better. They're pretty easy to come across these days as well - I've only actually bought one great music box sample set, but have come across a number of free good ones since without even trying!
I understand what you are saying but I have a totally different opinion on this. To me, if a set has some bread-n-butter sounds that perfectly fits the genre it's targeted for then I have no problem with that. In fact, having those sounds already in the set is time saving. You won't have to look for those sounds anywhere else, load sampled libs and all that.
Cool audio demo too, Satya! :tu:
Thanks 3ee.

Woah! Hey thanks, Satya :). As for the addition of the semireal instruments in some packs, your thoughts were mine exactly. I don't have Konakt or any other GOOD realistic instrument sample collections, so if I want a certain sound, I have to make it synthetically. Plus, it's convenient having everything you need in one collection.

That said, though, I'm gonna try UpDog's idea on the next horror/sci fi release. While there are only 10 patches in AV, out of 60, that aim for realism, I get the impression people want just the "cool stuff". Hehe, this habit goes way back to when I was young and trying to make grand piano sounds on a yamaha DX. Never did get a good acoustic piano out of that thing (any attempt always sounded like a toy), but it was a valuable learing experience. Some of the bells, gongs, mallets and metallic sound effects you get from FM are absolutely beautiful in their own, haunting way, and I personally like the synthetic character.

The next ambient style release will be purely sci-fi - just pads, effects, soundscapes, alien machinery, and purely abstract synths/leads. No realistic instruments. Gonna focus on space, futurism, aliens, technology, etc. A more "blissful" flavor with a hint of dread lurking underneath. The whole point of synthesis is to be like Salvador Dali and paint surrealist sonic pictures. Photorealism is a good display of a painter's skill and gets that message across, but abstract art is more interesting.
