Of course, I do have one in my brain. Why should I waste my precious time litigating with people who are insulting and attacking me? That's why some people like Rob Lee don't appear at KVR anymore...thecontrolcentre wrote:No idea ... but is it true you have a blacklist?

New Aussie guy - welcome to KVR.
Don't mind the locals.
They're alright ... most of the time
Peace,
Andy.

OK, right now you're using the Tascam to transfer music from your hardware to your PC, right? There are faster, easier ways, so that's one area you should look at.Denv12 wrote:I'm reasonable computer savy for most basic computer things but not savy when combining software, computers and digital pianos.Thats where I need help.
To record piano parts directly on a computer you'll need a DAW and an interface that has: MIDI ports, stereo line inputs so you can record audio from your hardware, an XLR mic input, and a decent mic preamp. Somebody more piano-oriented can give you better recommendations for those than I could. You'll probably want a DAW that does a reasonable job of displaying music in standard notation, I'm not sure what to recommend there.
Once you're there, you can also look into the various pianos you can run as plugins inside the DAW - you can start with some free ones, like Piano One, to get an idea. There's a whole world of virtual pianos out there ranging from the very simple to fancy and expensive. With those you'd be using your hardware as just a MIDI controller, and have the plugin actually produce the sound.

Why do Australians always need to say they're from Australia?
Just curious
Oh and welcome.

It's probably a bit like being Welsh. Or Jewish.
Don't ask.
G'day mate.
Once more into the breach dear (whatever you fellas are called these days).
I think we have put on a pretty poor show for our new friend.
Eh, mate, if you are down in Swansea or Cardiff any time soon, I have a list of people you should avoid! Maybe that can make up for our rudeness. (anyone else can pm me for it for 5AD). Talking NSW of course, not the mother land, Oh no, no one you want to avoid down there. Then again.
Ozzy ozzy ozzy! Er, maybe you are trying to get away from all that?
Oi, Oi, Oi!
f**king tourettes (yeah pm me if you think it's funny).
See, look you, it could be worse:

Maybe it would be more helpful to split your questions in extra threads so it's easier for others to replay only for parts where they are interested in.

That Tascam thingy seems pretty decent, even got a nice mixer. What do you need the computer for? Seems you could do your entire songs without using a computer...
I have a small Boss digital multitracker, that seems similar to your Tascam. The only problem I have with it is that operation sucks, many buttons have multiple functions and the display is tiny.
