Well, I got no crusade against Spire, I would like to buy it at one point.

Not anti-Spire, it's a fine synth and some sound designers have shown some great patches to my liking.
Demoing Spire actually got me to like Spectral more.
After listening to Blue II last night, I probably would give it the edge over them though.

Spire is an amazing synth. Check out Aiyn Zahev's pack for it. It's digital, sure, but also can do warm very well, like a more modern VA sound. I like it, and the new filters and improvements are great additions - I hope the devs continue this pace.

WOW! A couple of things...

I posted this thread assuming the other thread got buried without bothering to check beforehand. My mistake. Nothing to read into that.

If I can't make a post about a damn synth without being accused of f**king spam, that's a problem. I see now that I've pissed off a lot of people due to my past behavior and really did not realize how bad it was. I sincerely apologize to everyone I've offended over the years. Some of you might think I'm full of shit and flame me anyway, but time will prove I ain't messing around about that. I want to fix my reputation. My livelihood depends on it. For the time being, just not gonna post anywhere else but the Soundware forum and staying out of the rest. Everyone would be happier. Again, no need for any flaming. I got the message loud and clear. Things are gonna change. Peace out.

@ Xenos: You didn't do anything wrong at all. Haters gonna hate. It's just ridiculous that someone who does presets isn't supposed to express his opinion on a plugin.

I can't say that I've ever noticed anything wrong with your past behavior, nor do I see anything wrong with this thread, other than not being in the appropriate subforum, which was obviously an honest mistake.

I appreciate the gesture, really, but I think the guys have a point. Looking back objectively, I think I was a bit excessive over the years about promoting my own work and someone speaking up about it was what I needed to see in order to fully understand that. If a post about a synth gets taken that way by more than one person, there's an underlying issue that needs to be addressed. The key to making it in life is a willingness to learn from bad decisions and not let pride blind us to legit weaknesses. As a matter of fact, it was some _constructive_ criticism I recieved way back in the day that made me fix the website into something more presentable (when I first made the website 6 years ago, it looked absolutely horrid), and ultimately lead to better quality products as well. I am going to keep it positive and see this as an opportunity to grow and be a better person.

Xenos you should absolutely post threads like this. An opinion of any one that actually makes sounds is more interesting than the opinion of someone who has only watched a demo video or flicked through some presets.

For me, I think it is great that sound banks have been separated from this section precisely so people 'can't' accuse of spam unfairly as in this case. It will also limit spam which I think is also great.

Btw, also for me, who doesn't really buy presets, I think the best adverts for a sound bank is a good YouTube video. I always appreciate the effort that has gone into these as they can give a good flavour of a synth and help decide if it's worth demoing...

1) It'll be very interesting to hear what Xenos does with Spire. He's an excellent sound designer.

2) Classic case, for me, of not needing a synth but I'm very tempted by it anyway.
