Not bad price, but for me, Monark is enough from Reaktor.

One thing that would be great for Reaktor 6 to bring in some kind of "compressor" for ensembles.

The ensemble files are so huge, and are mostly empty space. I just downloaded a new one which can be compressed 96% with with 7zip :o

From 400MB unpacked to 17,6MB packed.

These ensembles quickly becomes HDD guzzlers, when you download a couple of them.

That would be samples and graphics that are embedded in the .ens... I am not sure they will change the format much, so I wouldn't hope on that. But, you never know.

But what kind of audio samples is it that can be compressed that much?

With FLAC I usually manage to compress a WAV file 40 to 50%.

My experience with Reaktor Ensembles is that they can be compressed 80 to 90% (A fasincating thing is that 7zip is better a compressing them than WinRar, which is payware).

7zip has a completely different compression algo than RAR (and WinRAR will also work in evaluation mode forever, BTW).

So I guess it's mostly graphics and module info/tooltips/ensemble layout...

I got the payware version of WinRar, and it packs everything better than 7zip (I've tried). But the exception is Reaktor Ensembles, there 7zip is better.

Just goes to show that some things are better suited to a certain compression algorithm. :D

2005 was Reaktor 5 released ;)
I was born 1967 and haven't had an update, still working fine too.
Technically speaking, you are constantly being updated. Let's say on the "granular" level.

True, it was just the nearest clumsy joke lying around.

I personally feel my updates have never quite made it to a release build. :hihi:
