serial/key file only. Everything else can get f**ked.

is there no prior thread to co-whinge about copy protection at the KVR do you feature?

IK's c/r is a painful example of how bad c/r can get. I've had nothing but headaches from them. They can apologize all they want for server outages and I'll still cordially invite them to eat a dick sandwich. Compared to them, ilok is a pleasant vacation.

I'm imagining a 19th century cordial invitation to partake in said dick sandwich, and yet, somehow I imagine that it's a delicacy in some part of the world.

I feel like I could make a killing with affiliate links to USB hubs.

I think it's a requirement to have a new copy protection thread every week on KVR.

Threads like this are great, because they always want to prove something.

Actually you know, now that i think about it I don't really care about the protection. If it's good I'll buy it, if not thenI'll pass.

I got the Eventide freebie and installed the PACE Ilok drivers on my system and it barely seemed to do anything now that I remember. I will probably end up buying the Soundtoys bundle at some point.

It was that freebie that allowed me to test iLok before committing to it for max. I'm really happy with the results, it's great to be able to run max on any of my computers.

I found this one external Uber USB port that I considered, but I think it was probably overkill. Yah if you have any recommendations for a good usb splitter for mac lemme know

I much prefer dongles to anything else. I will say discoDSP should be commended for having NO copy protection.

Audio Damage have dumped the DRM too.

I've been looking at a portable 'studio on a stick' option for a bit and was wondering if anyone's compiled a decent list of software that doesn't require installation, service centres etc. Happy that my DAW of choice, Reaper, is enthusiastically portable but need to fill in all the other gaps (resigned that Reaktor and Guitar Rig will have to stay at home :))
