Not unlikely. However, DHR53, you probably used up your trial period already in the past? I would want to demo it again if I were you. Maybe ask Camel for a renewal.

Yeah, Diversion sounds great... will have you bouncing in no time!

And I don't mean that as a complaint. You get something for that cpu use. I think Diversion in under-rated.

How is Diversion considered to *not* be actively supported and developed?

Sample playback was added in Dec. 2013 and there have been a few bug-fix releases so far in 2014. That sounds pretty active to me.

Upgrade your hardware maybe? Any modern machine should be able to run those synths.
Out of the four, Spire is the most exciting and inspiring. But if you hate trance don't get it

I've just read a few comments on different threads asking if the developer has suddenly dropped off since its introduction in the last month or so.
Given that Dune and Reveal seem to show a more active forum and that Helix seems to have just dropped off in popularity, Dune seems to be the forerunner in those four for longevity and popularity.

Still, given the fact that the upgrade gives you sample import that the others don't have, I still vote for Alchemy above them all. Especially considering the OP already has and likes it.

Not being active on KVR does not equal bad support. It's actively developed, and Dmitry is responsive, just email him.

I never said 'bad', just not as prevalent as the others.
Diversion seems like a good synth, it just doesn't fit with any of my needs.

And I have a tendency to address choices first by logical deductions to help manage the decision.
So the first two eliminate themselves simply by not being as 'active' as the other two.
(Not to mention their sound in comparison, which is of course, subjective).

And still, I vote for upgrading Alchemy above them all,
since again, the OP has the player and likes it.

Don't get me wrong on these.
Depending on the music you're doing and the sound you're looking for,
your choice is your choice and the only valid one in the final analysis.

For me, I've downloaded all the demos of these and tried them out.
Especially during the 'fad-fest' when these were introduced or re-introduced.
I thought I would like Helix better than Spire, but came away feeling the same about them.
It does seem that Helix has dropped quicker from the market than Spire though.
With Diversion, which again was in a fad-fest of buyers, it just seemed too much of the same type of sound to me.
Given just those four, I liked Dune2 the best because of it's basic tonal character before jumping into the synthesis. Quite subjective, but it has 'more body' in its waves to my ears.

But after the list, upgrading Alchemy was listed as a consideration. And for me, it is a primary synth with features not even touched by the other four.

And with those five, Camel is the one I've seen as the most responsive.
So yeah, make of it what you will, but hands down, Alchemy.

Having tested all four, I prefer DUNE 2 hands down. It has an amazing character, ease of use and versatility that I love.

So because of a couple questions, you conclude that it is not being actively developed or supported and suggest someone take it off the list? You are spreading false rumors...

btw, Diversion has a bright clear sound quality under heavy modulation that Alchemy can not touch. They are very different synths...

Not spreading anything, you seem to be the one trying to make a point out of it.
Diversion would not be my last choice of the four, but it wouldn't be my first either.
And if you read the entire OP, the answer is in the question.

Helix, Diversion, Dune 2 or Spire... Hmmm
