Thanks, well Corona supported formats are .wav and .sf2 so nothing to do from his sidePietW. wrote:You can take as wavetable Editor Audio-term. Works for serum, Komplexer, dune2, wave generator, Blofeld, Surge, EPS16, ASR10.
I'm sure the programmers would also support your format.

Fair enough, I probably took your childish statement wrong. Besides, being childish is better than the alternativefluffy_little_something wrote:Who's complaining?
I simply don't agree that everyone willing or wanting to use a WT synth needs all the features of Serum. Some people might welcome a lighter WT alternative which still sounds very good...

I actually really like the way Codex sounds, it is capable but very simple and intuitive. And it has a superb library of patches, which are not EDM oriented and suited for many musical styles. They also blend nicely with recorded music. And I like that Waves don't supply patches that all hit into limiters at 0 dBFS. They peak below -4dBFS which is a rare occasion with synths, where everybody wants to sell its synth by supplying patches all going into the red.

What was childish about my statement? You know, it is like with Element and Diva. Many people just don't need Diva, even though it is more powerful, of course. But for many it is too much, overkill, while Element sounds good and gets the job done fast and without squashing your computer.lachrimae wrote:Fair enough, I probably took your childish statement wrong. While Serum is way more powerful and flexible, I agree that Codex's patches are a lot more diverse and usable. Cover pretty much every genre. The format control is also really cool. Can Serum replicate this?

Lately I've been a wavetable synth junky, so when I saw the advert on KVR I instantly did a search and found this thread. I think the one big thing you totally ignored about the two synths is that Codex has the formant control and Serum does not. I've yet to download a demo yet, so I'm not exactly sure how it works but perhaps it's like the Virus' formant table function? Just thought I'd put it out there. Now I'm off to investigate.

The only reason I haven't downloaded the demo and off using it is because for some odd reason even the offline installer is giving me grief on this system
The woli is useless here
I I'm diligently trying though, I RARELY get excited about synths but I LOVE element.....my fav by far so eager to try.........now lemme try that installer again......

I'm not going to install the Waves demo (as I'm pretty anti-DRM) so I'm not sure what theirs does.. for the record you can get 'formant control' out of Serum with Sync modes (e.g. windowed sync) and you can keytrack any of the 20 different warp modes by simply dragging NOTE mod source to the warp knob(s)!I think the one big thing you totally ignored about the two synths is that Codex has the formant control and Serum does not.

Indeed, I bought Serum for its potential, but the factory set doesn't do it full justice. Would be nice to see the Serum factory set developed further ala Spire.fceramic wrote:While Serum is way more powerful and flexible, I agree that Codex's patches are a lot more diverse and usable. With $50 is not a deal... but the feature list is not very long. I miss a good Unison implementation. It's only 2x Unison without spread or unison amount like in Serum or Dune? (I've not demoed it, my knowledge is only because of the videos and stuff I read).
The same with the FX... very limited and some effects are only one-knob things (reverb & chorus).
The good thing, the wave scanning seems to be a bit different, you can set a start/end/middle/loop and this could be a interesting thing.
The complete modulation is not so flexible and easy to use like in Serum or Massive (FXpansion too).
Codex has no Wavetable editor... this is not a show stopper but Serum has such a tool which makes it very easy to build own wavetables.
Maybe that Codex wins with better Wavetables or presets? This is some stuff which must be demoed, same with the filters etc.

I wasn't saying you were childish at all, I was saying that when you said I was childish that I was overly offended.
We're all good here fluffy
Back to Codex: The demo is still installed but may not be for much longer.

Oct 7th 1PM CST. It's a general $50 Waves voucher so I'll attend the webcast even if I don't need the voucher. I guarantee someone will try to sell one of these vouchers in the marketplaceNaenyn wrote:Where did you read about this?lachrimae wrote: If I read correctly, Codex can be had for $50 if you attend that webcast tomorrow
