The opposite for me, love SD2 so this will be a must have.

At least you can do it in stages, and indeed skip whole swathes if you don't need them:

The sound library is configured in six (6) convenient download packages.
1. “Software” (approx. 230 MB)
2. “Basic Sound Library” (approx. 40 GB)
3. “Room” (approx. 46 GB)
4. “Surround 1” (approx. 43 GB)
5. “Surround 2” (approx. 52 GB)
6. “Bleed” (approx. 54 GB)

I never work in surround, so I'll plan on skipping 4 and 5 completely, saving nearly 100gb.

I have been using EZ Drummer 2 because of the awesome "tap to find" feature and the easy way to mix kit pieces from different EZX librairies.
SD2 didn't have "tap to find" and it was a pain to mix different kit pieces. SD2 has been collecting dust for years but now that SD3 will have those same features I have to admit I am really excited. I had given up hope on SD3 ever seeing the light of day. I won't be able to upgrade right away but I am happy with the $199 upgrade cost from SD2 to SD3 considering all the new features, new kits, electronic drums, way more effects and much nicer GUI. If I wait 2 years, I will probably be able to get the upgrade on sale for $99 but this is one of those times when I don't think I will be able to wait for the sale... arggg...

Oh yeh likewise, I use EZD2 all the time for composition but more typically use the kits from SD. Hence this should be best of both

$147.59 (or $142.02 with N3WS10 code and pay in pounds) at Time and Space

I'll probably get it, I own Ez2 and all expansions and Superior 2 and all expansions, never use them though, and likely wont use this, (I just like to own everything so as I can give it a decent try to find out for myself what I think is best, then it's my OCD which insists I keep the collection complete) BFD3 is just head and shoulders above anything else out there, time will tell if Superior 3 will de throne it, although I think I will be still waiting for something better than BFD3 after SD3 is released

I was hoping there would be some attention to making cymbal swells possible, rather than through a separate library. Good news is that these sorts of samples can be imported and at least passed through the same signal chain.

Well, I'm in the states, so not sure here.

I'm currently (and I know it's new) not understanding what is truly new. There is quite a bit of samples, and some effects, but what is NEW?

I don't give 3 wooden nickels of "old stuff" brought to what ezdrummer 2 can do. I want NEW stuff!

So, waiting to see what that sounds like personally.
