I wish there was a sequencer sequencer plug-in like Rene but you would really need a controller like a Launch Pad to play it.
Yeah, I'm looking at the CycliC videos now and that's exactly what I was looking for.

Some really good sequencers here

xoxos has some superb algorithmic stuff

Too much good stuff to put into words, I recommend you watch the video presentations

There are loads of max4live sequencers for free
Oh crap, great post. I want to mess with all of them.

Yes Numerology is pretty amazing, I think it's Mac only though.

Another thing you can look into is using MAX/MSP.

Nice thread which, for once, actually is worthy of being an aggregate thread here. At any rate, some nice suggestions so far and I think that we should expand the discussion on how people use them.

Here's something that you probably should bother downloading, is really old, is strange and hard to use, but is still somewhat interesting. I used this in the 90s and, IIRC, the website looked exactly the same at the time.

Pretty much, archive has it going back to 1997.

Also in the modular world, you can get a whole lot of mileage just from a couple of LFOs and some logic gates.
Again, Bitwig can do this sort of thing :)

Wonder whether my advice worth a penny? Check my music at Soundcloud and decide for yourself.

Cyclic seems to be similar to the Reaktor sequencer ensemble Spiral (which was released as part of a Kore soundpack years ago)

Of course there are lots of interesting Reaktor sequencers - I like Nod-E best but this one is also cool:

Yes, this is awesome.
Might be tricky for new users now the forum has disappeared as there was a lot of information on how to use it that isn't covered elsewhere.

Worth it for the arp alone!
The shape system is fantastic to create custom arps and of course for drawing midi patterns and automation.

Really useful that you can drag and drop any midi you create to your host or file system.

Was really saddened when development was stopped.

Luckily I bought a license :D

Always surprised this never gets mentioned in these type of threads, an old free version of SoftStep by Algoarts
http://www.sonicspot.com/softstep/softstep.html
The current software

Artsong and Lmusix

One of my favourites is Quaderno, always get something good out of this :)
Deep, unique and has a modular play room too
http://www.quaderno.com/

There are a few euclidean sequencers for max4live, heres a VST plugin
http://www.shuriken.se/?page_id=97

Ive got a shit memory and most of the stuff Ive found is on my other puter

I cant find download links for Tiction (doesnt seem to work properly on my win7 64bit laptop) or Algorithmic Composer

Download a copy of Bitwig and dig into the Arp and modulators (throw in some midi VSTs to supplement whats lacking)...too easy and too much fun and you can save any chains you make in the demo version

Ooh that's a point, with lots of help from Usine guru's we put together a bouncy ball sequencer module for Usine - check out the thread here - patches are in the thread:

Looks like no one mentioned the Clockkwork VST yet: http://music.service-1.de/html/clockwor ... r_vst.html
It's similar in function to the Moog 960 sequencer module. You can do stuff like mute or skip steps while it's playing. I've been thinking about getting it, but it's limited to 16 steps. I'm not sure if you can string together more than one to get more steps or not.
