If you are in your twenties with no obligation taking care of children (as I read from your message).

How can you feel drained out?

Even with a dayjob, you have your weekends free, and also evenings to work on music.

If you really want it, you need to gear up.

Far be it for me to offer life advice, but when I was that age I was a bike messenger, I was most of the time drained. I remember preparing for a show and falling asleep.
I remember that the guy involved with the project that did always have a good job thinking to advise me on priorities, ironically. I did what I could.
I don't know what the job is arkmabat does, but 'a job' for me is like that to some extent and that one was physically hard. I'd rather have done that than _any_ job I can think of because it didn't consume my mind. I'm thinking about music most of the time, in fact there a jobs I would be hard-pressed to do that require thinking about that crap too much.
"you have the weekends" - that wasn't enough for me, not by a long ways. So I was happiest when unemployed, but music for me is more important than creature comforts.

Music as a life means sacrifices that your more sane individual doesn't like to, or doesn't need to make. But I wouldn't even want to persuade either way, just sayin'.

Generic 9-5 jobs can be soul-destroying. Creative people need a creative outlet and it can be hard to feel inspired by the time you've finished work in the evening. On top of that, minimum wage earns you just enough money to pay the bills, eat and maybe pay for the car that you only really need for getting to work. Thankfully, music production isn't the expensive hobby it once was.

I would definitely recommend looking into 12 hour shift work (i'm currently a security guard). Way i see it is 8 hours or 12 hours makes little odds, that's the bulk of the day gone. But having more than 2 days to yourself a week, that's worth more than money.
