Monitor speaker advice

Weird thing was, I've mixed probably a hundred songs worth of material on the monitors I have (I have both Truth 2030s and KRKs hooked up) and I thought I was pretty familiar with their quirks after having done the car stereo/headphone/other systems rounds many times. But this distortion issue proved to be a real puzzler, and the cheapos pointed out a hole of which I hadn't been aware, and one that was hard to detect just playing it by ear, so to speak. I'm not advocating that anyone abandon the use of quality monitors, just that sometimes adding the right set of cheapos can come in handy.
