Heyo Everyone, sorry to revive an old dead thread but I literally just made an account to reply back a possible solution to this;
In my search of looking for this exact problem I came across one user saying that "the only way to get this system msg on the midi controller is to switch the correct switch [which in the case of the a300/a500/a800 pro series is the A switch] to the blank position [basically switching it from the asterisk/star position to the other one]"
I couldn't fix the problem after trying like 50 times, different ways, yadda yadda;
Then it ocurred to me that maybe, if only switching the A switch makes this msg appear, then maybe it's because some connection problem on the hardware itself;
tl;dr just grabbed some small pliers, moved the switch just a little bit off from the blank position, and the a800 pro works fine now.
So basically, it it's stuck in a loop for the "send the smf file" update thing, it's most probably something related to a hardware connection problem.
