This is totally sending the wrong signals... :hihi:

Though maybe you should have used this one instead. But I get the idea with Snape being "blown away" by massive walls of sound.

Tried both downloads, didn't work... then realized it must be WinRAR having issues. So I downloaded 7zip and seems to be working AOK.

Hope that helps some people

Thanks for the info. I've uploaded a "normal" zip version here: http://paluchowski.pl/KVR_MC08_Palu_48-24-WAV.zip (422 MB)

Well, we did comment on page 1 that the files are ZIP files packed with LZMA compression, which is saving a lot of bandwidth compared to other compression methods.

Most recent WinRAR versions should extract the files. Then again, we also recommended tools to extract the ZIP files (which are also available as "portable" installation): 7zip for Windows, and The Unarchiver for Mac OSX.

But thanks for another mirror, szalonykp.

No pre-mixes please.

Just one submitted mix prior to the deadline - then get feedback and should you be among the second mix round, continue to work on the track. Please consult the rules as this would give you an unfair advantage over others and it would ignore the basic principle of the KVR Mix Challenge.

It may sounds funny, but I wrote it first and than went on YouTube to attach some examples and... I wasn't able to find anything I liked to be honest :)

Now when I think about it - I meant that what I think I like in this kind of music is a kick that has more click and less bottom. The guitars are more important to me than the drums - so I think it's the other way round than in EDM - the kick is not the foundation. It must find it's place within the mix.

Maybe something like this after the intro...

Your instructions are very helpful. Thank you for being so thorough.

I'm the mathematician-musician type :D I was almost about to write all these instructions in sortable excel spreadsheet with macros and stuff

EDIT: More drums and guitars references - I love the mix of that. The power it hits just after the strings intro. It's a great album btw :)
