Harmor = best additive resynthesizer?

Harmor is a great synth, I bought it a few years ago! Its GUI is a bit confusing but once you understand how it works, it's quite powerful!

I never resell any of my synths. If I buy a synth it's because I love it or at least like it a lot. For me, the more complex the better. I tire of basic synths quickly and tend to stay away from them.Tricky-Loops wrote:Harmor is a great synth, I bought it a few years ago! I'm using the Mac Alpha. But it's mostly functional. The spectrum display doesn't open properly and there is some weirdness with parameters having the same names in the host for certain groups.Yorrrrrr wrote:No, there is a VSTi version (Windows only).wagtunes wrote:Do you need FL Studio to run this?
Actually you don't even need to own it to use the beta. I just bought it to take advantage of the 50% deal at the time. Little did I know it would be even cheaper weeks later!
Latest is Alpha 8 I believe:

Well I don't think you'll tire of Harmor. It's bananas deep.wagtunes wrote:I never resell any of my synths. If I buy a synth it's because I love it or at least like it a lot. If you like complexity, you will be at home with Harmor. There are no words to describe how complex this thing can get. You can resynthesize everything, create your own custom oscillators, custom filters with custom resonance, custom unison, custom envelopes and LFOs, custom everything to infinity... It is incredibly deep as you can edit everything up to the harmonic/sines level.

@Harmor users:
what preset and then settings would you suggest to get nice drony/pads out of samples?
playing around with the demo still.

Then Harmor is the right synth for you. You can draw free envelopes for more than 50 parameters, and it loads custom WAV files, even via drag-and-drop (to the OSC)!wagtunes wrote:For me, the more complex the better.
@ Caine123
Aren't you the guy who already has 999 synths?

Harmor is a bit insane in that you basically can create your own custom envelopes (i.e. not simple ASDR) for pretty much anything, use as many LFOs as there are parameters available to modulate, map anything to respond to velocity, the X-Y-Z pad etc. etc. So even for subtractive/additive synthesis it might offer you options you haven't got.

Can anyone direct me to audio or video demos that really "sell" the powers of this unusual beast? All I found on YT was tutorials and tiny clipettes of a single sound or process. Thanks!

You can download a demo and try it out for yourself.SciFiArtMan wrote:Can anyone direct me to audio or video demos that really "sell" the powers of this unusual beast? All I found on YT was tutorials and tiny clipettes of a single sound or process. Thanks!

Or you can check the Image Line website. Lots of sound demos there.
