+1 me too , I have ReNoise which I don't use much but Redux is gonna be great ...and great for slicing and then some . :phones:

I always preferred FL's old Slicer over Slicex or anything else I've tried.

The slicer built in to Maschine is decent and functional, not awesome but it gets the job done.

it seems that Vice is missing the typical ADSR knobs? it would be cool to have a slicer with sampling features or am i mixing something up now?

It has AHD knobs, not sure why it doesn't have a release though?

With a AHD envelope D becomes release. ;)

How come?

Why not an ADHS envelope for hyperactive slicers? :P

(BTW, this Redux thingy looks quite promising! 8))

ok now im totally (again?) confused and dumb.....

i look for a slicer and vice is really nice but somehow while editing some audio samples lately for some experimental music i was not satisfied, cause i want this:

- a sampler & slicer
- with built-in effect
- ADSR knobs
- Reverse
- Pitching
- TIME-STRETCHING :D

which would cover my needs?

i looked more into Battery 3 now (i didnt use it much, as in fl studio i put in my percs in each sampler unit and automatable!) and it seems to have nearly everything, i dont like the workflow with it so much, but it has no built-in slicer and the sample editing is clumsy.... no mouse wheeling etc.

This is a AHD envelope

A(ttack) is same as in ADSR envelopes, H(old) is the time it holds the full level and D(ecay) is the time it takes to go back to zero, hence in effect acting as release.

In Battery you can choose between AHD and ADSR for example, and I find the AHD envelopes most of the time more practical and quicker to set up for drum / percussive sounds that's why they implemented it in Vice also I'd assume (edit: err well, certainly not because I find them more parctical :D), good choice imo.

Maybe TX16Wx?

Unfortunately, it doesn't have time-stretching, as far as I know.

Geist have good fast slicer and:

Adsr
Fx
Revers
Pitching
Time streching

i have to recheck it again cause when i was using the lite version i didnt like the workflow, it felt so clunky.
