mh... it already crashed FLStudio two times when i stopped playing the pattern, after some graphic glitches (not refreshing the portion of the UI that was covered by another window).
Seems pretty unstable, to me, and if it will keep crashing i don't think i'm gonna use it ....

I have installed this version: PG8X-4-29-2015 and I use Cubase Elements 7 and until now I don`t recognize problems apart from loading the preset banks which are available on the website. The banks are fxb and normally it shouldn`t be a problem to load them, but anyhow it doesn`t work and I haven`t got any idea why. I selected "import fxp/fxb", selected the bank from my files, but it doesn`t get loaded.
I just can get 4 empty init banks.

@Mojo42
haven't tried any .fxb banks, but the native preset-bank format of the synth (.PG8Xbank) works flawless here:

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/e5oop1vf8vpl ... Xbank?dl=0
you should be able to load these via PG8X GUI -> PROGRAM -> LOAD BUTTON -> SELECT BANK IN BROWSER

@keith303: Hey thanks
Cool, it works
My chances to join this OSC are better now
Okay I will try a couple of instances and look and see if Cubase will crash.

Seems to me that the VST just hate the mouse wheel. No using it to edit the patch from hours and had no DAW crashes. Symptoms are that wheeling the sliders become laggy, and that the wheel does'nt work also on the DAW.

Also, must note: I've had no issues on Bitwig on OSX 10.10. Nice sounding synth. Giving me something to think about...

One thing: has anyone figured out a way to make a consistent sound? E.g. restart he OSC on each note

Nope. Having the same issue on a number of patches. Seems like everything is just like in the good old days when you never knew what was going to come out of your synth. My Moog was a nightmare.z.prime wrote:One thing: has anyone figured out a way to make a consistent sound? E.g. restart he OSC on each note

Hm, it is kind of minimalistic
Okay, good joke.....where is the arpeggiator????
Where are the effects? The Layers 2, 3, 4 and all other oscillators??
Damned, I guess some composing skills would be good for this OSC
I should have entered OSC #73, I knew it!!! Will be a hard round this time
Saving a soundbank with self created patches was an intelligence test, but I have made it
8 (test) Instances without a crash until now. No problems apart from the need to be very creative with the very few features it has. Good for beginners and for learning the very basics (filter,envelopes and LFO`s) of synthesizer programming I guess.
Oh my, this will be intresting this time. But, good sound

I haven't got a great one yet. There are some definite issues making it work... So far (only been messing with it today, really) I was able to layer 2 instances for something sorta ok...keith303 wrote:whatever kickdrum i'm trying to get out of this, it either sounds like

Here's something to look at (attachments). Rez all the way up, play with the cutoff frequency a bit to get the pitch you want. Add another instance with some different stuff for some more attack to it...
The key you play is important... try C1 or so, or all over they keyboard. It's sort of a crapshoot... and not entirely consistent.

What I did was create a sequence pattern with about 8 different pitches scattered randomly. In the context of what is turning out to be a cheesy 80s pop tune, it seems to be working fairly well.z.prime wrote:Heheh.wagtunes wrote:Now you know what it was like in 1979.

Here is my best kick so far. It is a bit silent, but doesn`t sound like a fart at least (

It seems that less is more. By changing the envelope mode (see image) the sound already changes into more like toms or even a bit like a snare with a bit additional work. As a basis this adjustements on the photo work well I guess.

One nightshift for one poor kick..........this starts good eh?
Good luck

I have a killer kick, will share soon
As z said, max resonance is key. Then a bit of layering.
