Depends exactly what you're looking for. If you're looking for something just to use for now as a bit of art for your project then I'd go for something under Creative Commons but it may take a while to trudge through the unsuitable stuff to find something that you want exactly. If you have an idea of what you want and could potentially come up with a brief for the project then just try checking out local art colleges/schools in your area, they generally do some pretty damn good work at a relatively low cost.
