Also, A lot of guitar bands aren't especially anal about being in the "correct" tuning. Often in the old days we did not ever plug in a tuner. As long as the guitar was in tune with itself and the other bandmates by ear we didn't worry about it.

Ironman was dropped 3 half steps live. Studio starts in B, live = Ab.(check Youtube) I`m sure if you compare studio and live on Youtube you`ll see it must go on to some degree with other bands.
Sabbath is a guitar band. If there are keys in a band, it must get transposed for performance and the guitars are tuned down.
Speeding up the studio master for pressing was also done frequently for increasing tempo to gain excitement and raise the vocal pitch.
So i`d estimate it`s not just tuning down for live performance, it may be that the master was pressed sharp.
Sorry, but it just doesn`t happen like that.it probably was due to mechanical tape speed fluctuation causing a slight tempo and pitch change to occur.
