I hope I'm not missing your question. I'd say Scarbee has the large (Gigga type) sample set all taken up. I'd recomend something in the medium size range and avaliable for a variety of formats. I'd love a great rhodes for reason's nnxt.

Could you do something of scarbee's quality but with smaller sample sets? I don't know.

Hey DKeenum,

Just to clarify: There are plenty "lite versions" included with RSP73 - all down to 4 velocities - white keys stretched. So it covers all needs considering ram, cpu etc.

BTW. Thanks for all the nice words from all you out there! Yeah - competition is hard these days but we will keep on trying to raise the bar 8) and deliver you some high quality products. You deserve it!

Right now I work very hard to finish the Clav and it takes time because my goal is to make a 100% carbon-copy of the clav - and that is the hardest quest so far - all you clav owners knows what a funky lady she is!!

But I have come up with a new never before seen technique that enables me to get close...very, very close.

Anyway, demos comming up soon and you can judge by yourself.

Have a nice sunday! :)

The Clav! The Clav does some weird things - you can make it play a note when you release a key. f**ked clavs often play 2 notes at once (not nice!). You can even bend notes a little if you hit the thing hard enough! Looking forward to the demos!

Haha - yes it's crazy sometimes  . Remember to replace all old hammertips - they are the ones that give you the ugly "pop"... Or you can adjust the tip to hit and release right. And new strings really help too!

The two notes thing - I guess is when hammer hits the string wrong - sort of a phased sound.

I love the clav for it's charm! What a fine instrument!!

actually the two notes thing is due to split hammer tips - they effectively become wider and hit two strings instead of one. The pop thing I get when I press a key down really hard and release it really fast - all the tension suddenly comes out of the string. Wouldn't worry about that though - it's not a very useful idiosyncracy! :)

I suppose I should re-string my Clav, but...60 strings?! :-o

Like the Rhodes though, it is a truly inspiring and supremely playable instrument. And funkier than a bucket of prawns in the sun! And mine only cost £50! :D 8)

Relacing the 60 strings is the worst restoration I have ever done - even worse than resoldering the Wurly reeds.

Hope I will NEVER háve to repeat this!!

hammer hitting two strings? Then it's in a bad shape.. - still you can probably bend the hammer to fix that.

I replaced the tips after a particularly atonal performance

I have just gotten SCAREE's RSP and WEP, and have deleted every other electric piano from my hard drive after five minutes of playing them - Worth EVERY PENNY AND THEN SOME!!

I also got SID with the bundle, and have added them to my J-Slap-n-Fingered (since the old Giga days) and play them all through HALion2. There is absolutely no comparison to any other sample library of their ilk.

I just bought a Kurzweil MIDIBoard from a guy who claims this late model unit was at one time owned by Chick Corea. I'm assuming that it was a road axe, since it's a bit banged up. However, that key action is as good as new, coupled with the ability to seriously tailor the key action and MIDI response to my playing style makes me feel like I have a totally new studio.

After the SCARBEE additions and the new keyboard, I'm starting to feel like I'm playing a musical instrument, and not just using a sequencer input method. I'm starting to build my playing chops again... which may take some time, but there's a level of musicality that SCARBEE has put in my studio that is a first for any softare I've purchase.

Seriously, if you want to run a Rhodes library and you will NEVER replace, get Scarbee and be done with it.

Each Rhodes has its own soul. Size does matter but sometimes I think it’s too much focus on GB. I don’t know if Dusty Electric MKII will be as good as Scarbee. For some it might be better. Depends on your needs.

The formats will be HALion, Kontakt nad EXS24 MKII. Maybe we will release a light SoundFont version. NNXT can read SoundFonts.
SoundFonts and NN-XT can’t read release samples...that’s a pity.

Dusty Electric MK II will be “funky” and it will “scream like a pig” that’s for sure. :P :o :)
And it will be under 300 MB in size.

I am curious how it compares to the non sampled based Lounge Lizard 2. Can someone who perhaps owns both tell me? I own LL2 and am very impressed/happy with it...
Play it by ear

apparently nn-xt can use release samples... they are in the new Electromechanical refill by the props, as well as the Orange2 refill by www.reasonbanks.com. I'm not sure how they do it though - its a undocumented tweak of some kind.

Once I get my Orange2 in the mail I'll try to figure it out...

Ok, thanks for that info. I have reason 2 not the 2.5 I will check it out.

I think maybe he means an option to get just a few nice sets without all the variables.
