Why do I love Linplug's CrX4?

CRX4 is a wicked synth for "quick and dirty" sampling. Amzing how far you could go just from sampling a single note. The filter is pretty juicy also. I've always thought they should have a separate multi-fx vst available, featuring one of their filter designs front and centre. Having the filter on Spectral as a separate fx, where you could design your own response, as you can with the synth, would be pretty unique. There's nothing quite like that in terms of vst effects as far as I know.

I wrote about 400 patches for it a while back. They were originally sold as separate sound set, but I believe they are now included as part of the factory set. When they rearranged their site, the separate soundset disappeared and the included presets on the CRX4 increased, so I presume that's where they are now.

As far as having Spectral emulate Serum-that's an interesting idea. However, they are quite different. Even though it's not a VA Spectral is a lot warmer sounding than Serum with a more mellow laid back sound. Futhermore, Spectral, while it excels at bass sounds, never has enough grit for me in the way that other synths have. So while the bass is solid I would find myself processing it further with Fabfilter Saturn or Izotope Trash, to give thing a bit of an edge. Depending on wavetable choice and use of onboard distortion, Serum can give me what I want more or less immediately. Although for complex moving pad sounds I probably would favour Spectral, especially with lots of polyphony and big two handed voicings.

Linplug really don't get the props they deserve imo. Solid products

As for Morphox, well I've written a big set for it with 406 presets. So you can say I'm fairly keen on it :borg:

I use your sounds a lot in Spectral - especially variations/tweakings of your arps/sequences, Yemski. Very usable for what I write. Things have been quiet in the Linplug world - I'm hoping that Peter is evolving the existing synths as opposed to working up a "new" one.
