Since I purchased it on 2007 I can say Logic is easy to use but also very deep. There are some very advanced tools there as well as complex instruments, but it's not a hard to use DAW at all. Logic X was a big step forward so I can only recommend it.

A lot easier to use than cubase.
logic is like golf. U can get okay at it pretty quickly but to get from okay at using it to pro is pretty much an endless chase because logic has so many ways to do things.
I highly recommend checking out Edgar's Logic Pro x books to beginners. He even has one made for beginners

Short answer: no. not difficult.
Logic goes pretty deep, but once you learn your way around the interface it's very easy. If you have no experience with audio, i.e. don't understand how a mixer works, it will be more difficult, but it's a very straightforward and powerful program with pretty good documentation. And tremendous bang for your buck.
