Does anyone understand how to play single notes without the sequencer being active? Have tried it with seq off and thru setting but still the same outcome.

Crisalys seems to work in my Cubase 8.5 64-bit, using JBridger.

I feel this is kind of 'archaic' synth. Sound is somewhat peculiar, but it has good modulation possibilities. Interesting challenge!

I really dont like that it requires circular motion with mouse to turn the knobs, and does not recognize the middle roller/knob in mouse. However Midi learn is good.

I didn't mean Kick drum in particular, but it does some amazingly cool and interesting percussion types in general. I'll try and get a kick patch.

The funky percussion has presets. They are the very bottom ones in the default presets list.

Okay will give it a go, is there a init patch ?

Anyways, made some beats with this, defiantly a roll your own but you can get some good heavyset styles and FM can be used to get noise together with reverb gives you some nicer snares claps, specially with short decay times and using mod FM1,2,3.

Hello, my entry for this competition is Raindrops, it's a song made in FL Studio, with 6 instances of Crisalys, and also including one Fruity Parametric EQ 2, 3 Fruty Reeverb 2, and a Fruity Delay 2, so all effects come with FL...

Took me a total of 1 hour and 48 mins. (Yes, a very long time.) I also used a few of the presets that came with Crisalys.

Is there no noise osc in this synth? Anyone figure the best method for creating a kick with this one? Bjporter, you mentioned this was good for making drum sounds, were there presets anywhere that have them?

Hey TJ, after loading up the plugin and having a fiddle with it, I came on here to ask the exact same question

I can get a barely passable kick and tom sound, but without a noise generator/osc I am stuck at trying to create a hihat or snare. If you could FM together a square and pulse wave , I think there are ways of getting a pseudo noise? I think the osc FM on this synth only acts on itself though.

I am not that experienced in FM, so maybe someone else can chime in here?

If I can't get decent percussion sounds, then I might have to do something different this month, like an ambient soundscape type deal, as you can certainly get some interesting sounds out of this. Seems like it is designed more for elaborate arpeggiator patches , which I usually tend to avoid like the plague

If I load up the fxb from the site download (Blue Sin by Alter Boy), none of those presets create sound. I can see the midi is hitting the synth, but no audio output. Anyone else have this problem?

Try switching midi through on/off
I mean turn it off...(wait and do nothing)..then back on again.

Nope, MIDI THRU on/off is not the problem. MIDI is getting through OK and it WILL play anything with the sequencer on.

Same issue as others. I find a workround is to switch the sequencer ON and stick a single note in the first slot. At least I can then get a sound, but even the lowest sync at 1/1 will give a repeat after 8 seconds at 16 steps, so it's only a way to audition some sounds.

So how on earth do I simply use this synth as a sound source and not a sequencer?

Looks like it only likes MIDI channel 1 - any way to change the channel? Not that I will have to.

Could you try my fxp a few posts up ? and see it that plays one note ?
