Yeah, a MiniMoog has changed a lot since 2005 to 2015

Definition of spamming is making multiple threads about the same thing

I look forward to do it.

Necro is the way to go IMO, it honours knowledge already posted in the forum.

What I can't stand is when a users start a thread about something, and then it drops of the first page, and then three weeks later another users start a new thread about exactly the same.

Makes it difficult to find all relevant info quickly, when it is spread over many threads like that.
My thoughts on it too...

If the info is relevant, then why create something new?

I think you don't get what he meant. It's totally useless to have one ten years old thread getting longer and longer without any relevance to nowday questions. For example why i should visit a years old Virus thread when i know that all the answers are most likely obsolte? Just because another member started the thread in 2005 i had to put it there? No thanx.

Your defintion of spamming isn't right because it implicit that different threads from different years about the same topic have the same content which is rather unlikely. If you follow threads here about the same subject one is from 2005 and the other is from today i bet there isn't much overlap that justify to merge them.

Also i when usually using the find function here get a few topics about the same subject and start with the latest. Where is the problem?
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

How can you know that it is obsolote without evening visiting it.

You must read it.

...and I start with the oldest, where is the problem?

Been there did that thousand times. I have no problem with multiple topics but it is really that worth especially when the info is years old? Better new talk then bumping old pages. People who like to have the old info can use the old threads. Others can use the new threads.

I think one writer block thread is more than enough, but as soon someone get's stuck, voila, new one, same goes for other timeless topics.

Sure, bring on your favorite 2016 compressor, 2015 is outdated for sure or Virus replacement thread from any time before today, but again, having like 5 threads dealing with same product in same time just because the hype is strong in that one, that's too much really.
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? :D ShawnG

For some people here the essence of their KVR-life seems to be the necessity to parrot everything which has already been written, so why read an existing thread about HALion 5 where all features and shortcomings of this instrument have been discussed to detailed death if you can write it all again, add a bit of opinion and misinformation here and there and sell it as your own findings. So please, get rid of the search function all together and lock each topic after 30 days the most. :tu:

Halion 5? I think that the term "old thread" as you understand it is not what i had in mind.

It only bothers me because in my dreams I talk to a being, and he tells me all of reality hangs on the balance of necro to new thread bumping at KVR and too many necrobumps could cause the very fabric of reality to evert.

Halion 5 is just an example, it could be any product

I totally agree with this:

It is biblical, the first shall be the last, and the last shall be the first

That was just an example, the same goes for Zebra, Massive, MachFive, Alchemy 1, Absynth, Diversion and so forth, all synths which have been around for a while, the same counts for FX of course.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
