The first right reply in the thread is the winner. Nobody is even close yet. Satch 1 was the closest by guessing Spire. This is the closest in terms of basic topology to the featured synth and even that isn't really that close.Jazzaria wrote:I also vote Serum, though not sure how the prize thing works if multiple people think the same thing.ATN69 wrote:Hard to tell but with all the FM-ish, morphing stuff going on in the first 20 sounds I guess Serum could be a candidate. But I don't own all plugin synths of course and therefore I don't know the character of them all..so it is a wild guess.

If by "topology" you mean the layout of the synth, then my guess is Hive. I have both Sylenth and Hive and they have some similarities when it comes to placement of things. I know I can't find a connection really to your first clue but I can only guess of synths I own myselfyemski wrote:The first right reply in the thread is the winner. Nobody is even close yet. Let me clarify, basic topology was perhaps the wrong choice of words. Instead, the more prosaic expression ,synthesis method, would be more correct. A lot of people are hearing additive, FM and wavetable stuff going on when it's actually a lot more simple than that. All this goes to show is that one can do a lot with basic waveforms, creative use of filters, and modulation of synthesis and effects parameters via a modulation matrix. Hive is a good guess. However, while it excels at bass, lead and arp sounds, I've never heard these kind of detailed sounds when it comes to pads with Hive. A Hive type set up is closer than most guesses though.Keep trying guys.ATN69 wrote:If by "topology" you mean the layout of the synth, then my guess is Hive. ..so Hive is my last guess.

I love Sylenth and use it all the time, but it's filters and oscillators are nowhere near as good as this synth and you wouldn't being able get that kind of motion in a sound using just mod wheel and aftertouch assignments.Jazzaria wrote:So has anybody just guessed Sylenth1 yet? If not, I suppose I do.

Well then, my last guess is Harmor, and my main lesson is that there are lots of very tweakable synths out there.
EDIT - somebody already guessed that. Hybrid 3 is my last guess, and this thread will be rather hilariously search optimized.

So far this thread has been a list of synths on my "to do" list, in terms of creating patches.Serum, Diversion, Spire, Harmor, Massive and even old Sylenth are all in the works.Krezie wrote:Diversion

Going back to Diversion in particular, it has more of a defined high end, to the degree that I often eq the top end quite severely to fit in a mix. Although sometimes this aspect of the synth can help in cutting through a crowded mix.
The synth in the demos has more of a dark sound, with a more mellow top end. Although some of the sweeps are slightly reminiscent of Diversion in places. Diversion definitely has a colder more "digital" vibe though.
Other than that, it always nice to be complimented on your work though. Thanks for the props mate.

Hm, if nooned guessed correctly so far, i'm kind of running out of guessing options here... actually i would have thought it's Serum too. Well, my next guess is Audjoo Helix then. Would be surprising, but who knows.

Audjoo Helix is a wicked synth btw. I've checked it out on a writing partners system a few years back. He'd written a whole load of patches for it and I thought it sounded awesome. Do they even develop it still?chk071 wrote:Hm, if nooned guessed correctly so far, i'm kind of running out of guessing options here... actually i would have thought it's Serum too.
