Ya, AUM is on my wishlist .... it's pricey though... there was a multitrack recorder on sale for 5 euro. was tempting to pick it up, but I'll just put that 5 towards AUM instead.

and I'll join that group - thanks for the suggestion : )

sprnva wrote:The Korg apps typically go 50% off every so often (and always when there's a new release) but I've never seen them go lower than that. So if you see any you like at half price, go for them, because it's unlikely they'll get cheaper. A friend sent me last night about a couple of new BT controllers they have. Very cool if you want tactile feedback with something nice and portable. Although they're about €150 each. You can also see Gadget and Module in action in the video.

One thing I really need to do is try harder to use the apps I have on my iPad. Either integrating them with my desktop setup or just trying to make more music on the iPad itself. I've slowed down buying apps as a result, but did pick up Fugue Machine and SoundPrism Link Edition yesterday.

One warning about discchord: try not to watch any of Jakob Haq's videos because he's so into this stuff that he makes me want to buy everything he reviews.

thanks for the tips sprnva, i'll keep that in mind about the usual korg discount rate.

yes i'm familiar with Jakob Haq's videos : ) ... he makes good videos, and he's a nice guy for sure, and i will usually see if he's done a video on an app i am already interested in... BUT ... i find he is much more promoter than objective reviewer. I haven't found a single review where he's said ''actually, this isn't such a great app... there are better alternatives for the same money or cheaper. or even a few dollars more'' etc ....

just something to keep in mind, and which is why you are very right to kind of warn people about watching his videos!

another thing I noticed is ... what happened to his voice ? did his balls drop at some point ? hehe, in his earlier videos he has a voice in the higher registers ... now it's deeper. anyway, weird observation which should illustrate that i've watched enough of his videos : ) perhaps a mic or setup change in some way.

i also thought appshopper was going to be my go-to website for keeping track of things...but it seems a bit flakey ... it's missing sales, and for the last couple of days not only is it missing sales but the apps have disappeared from the database entirely ? ..overall it's still a good site though, even if functioning a little strangely. will have to keep an eye on the blogs and forums you guys suggested. thanks again for those.

Yeah, unfortunately appshopper has been a bit flaky the last couple of weeks. Not sure what's going on, but hopefully it sorts itself out. I've been using it since I got my first iOS device years ago and it's been great. Got a ton of cool apps and games for free by playing the waiting game. And bought others at good prices. I check discchord regularly though so that's been keeping me up-to-date with the sales and new releases that appshopper is missing.
