I find this thread an insult tbh, as I remember when this synth first came out.

Ive been away ages, and when I come back its still getting regular updates and fixes and the dev seems to want to perfect it, so how support is bad I dunno.

IIRC its a one man show, and thats gonna take time to respond.

I must be spoilt, I feel I more or less always get adequate or better than expected support when contacting a dev.

Last week I was in touch with Native Instruments, and they sorted me out perfectly.

Today I have been involved witha license transfer with UVI/PACE, and it all went as smooth as knife through hot butter.

A couple of times I've had a bad experience, but in the big picture those are really the exceptions that confirm the rule.

I decided to buy the purchased player version with the wide bank of presets. It loaded first time but the presets were not available. I contacted support and they asked my to move the files to my document folder, which I did but still no joy! After re-downloading the plugin still not working.

Are you on OSX or Win?

I know from previous experience on Windows with another plugin, that if the plugin is not installed "for all users" the presets can disappear

Could that be the cause of the problem here as well?

I've seen some complaints about SynthMaster support in the past, and if mine was the support request that happened to fall through the cracks, I'm certain I'd be very annoyed, but all I can say from my personal experience is that the one time I needed to contact KV331 support, I received an response promptly and, after a couple of back-and-forths, my issue was resolved.

Thanks for your comments everyone....... still no reply to my support ticket email to resolve the problem

my smar/smpb factory preset files are in mac documents/synthmasterplayer/presets folder but are not visible in the SM browser

when I put the user bank smar/smpb files there they are visible in the SM browser

there is also other directors called "presets" as follows:

documents/synthmaster/presets this is where support told me to put files but nothing works if I do ..
macHD/Library/k331 Audio/synthmasterplayer/presets do not work from here
macHD/Library/k331 Audio/synthmaster/presets this is where the smpr files from the demo version are held, smar/smpb files don't work from here either.

User manual is not very helpful to resolve this issue. I'm ready for refund.

Maybe the data files are corrupt ? I downloaded them several times same result.

We don't officially suport Muse Receptor yet, as we don't own a Receptor to test SynthMaster with.

Ok - well since I can't get an official list of dependencies from the developer looks like I'll have to install it on a Windows machine and use something to track what it actually does install..

I am assuming you are a SynthMaster Player user, so please follow these steps:

1. delete /library/application support/kv331 audio/synthmaster player folder
2. delete Documents/SynthMasterPlayer folder
3. reinstall synthmaster player from http://www.synthmaster.com/downloadfile.aspx?fileId=86
4. copy unzipped expansion files (ending with .smpb / .smar) to Documents/SynthMasterPlayer/Presets folder OR /library/application support/kv331 audio/synthmaster player/Presets folder (Both should work)

If you want further support please send me your issue #, your name/email address.

I have been with synth master for a few years now and Mr. B can be a little unconventional if you are used to the bigger guys, but I have found hm to be a little brighter than the average bear. Dude just does it different. That being said sounds like you have a problem that Is legitimate but consider that I haven't, nor have any of the other people familiar with synth master on a current Mac, encountered these issues. There have been issues with presets in the past however so sorry if I was quick to judge.

So much better than talking to a different person in each Re: who has no idea what's going on. Still wrestling with Hitfilm 4 crashes.

Honestly, this board is almost dead. I no longer ask my questions there for lack of response even after weeks. That's not very good.
