Anyway, got to watch the video.

Won't work. Gimme a virtual studio in which I can incorporate my extant gear / software (ESPECIALLY DIVA)

But I love the idea.

At first, I thought a simplified version of this to replace a midi fader controller would be cool. However, when I actually imagine being in a studio with other musicians, I realize it's just going to be another distraction to keep us from working.

And a touch screen \ tablet \ smartphone could easily do that if for some reason you didn't want an actual controller
