Same here, they're the ones I still use occasionally (Boids, Automathica...)Pytchblend wrote:My favourite thing about the DC are the off-the-wall oddball plugins
To be honest, I'd just like a winner that I can appreciate, my cloth ears have struggled to even hear what the last few winning entries did...

Yeah! I've already got enough subtle compressors. I'm crossing my fingers that xoxos will return -- it won't be the same without him.GaryG wrote:...my cloth ears have struggled to even hear what the last few winning entries did...

Sad that the winner of KVR Dev Challenge 2007 is suspended from the forum at the moment
I hope he will be reinstated to be able to contribute to this Dev Challenge as well

Ditto. The old challenge repository is a gold mine.Pytchblend wrote:... My favourite thing about the DC are the off-the-wall oddball plugins.

The problem with an accurate Voder plugin reproduction would be that it's too hard to operate. It used to take up to one year of training to operate the original voder. In this day and age of short attention span it wouldn't survive.

There have been requests here and there for a metronome that can be recorded. It would need to recognise changes in time signature, and being able to choose any audio clip would be useful. Or it could be a MIDI thing, and a VSTi could be added inline.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

According to the entry rules:
The challenge is to create and release a brand new free audio plug-in, application or sound library / pack / set that will benefit the community at large.
Can someone define what is meant by "brand new"? Does that mean never before entered in this contest? I have something written several years ago in conjunction with a magazine article and offered for free download in the magazine (itself a free internet publication). But that software was never posted elsewhere and certainly not entered in this competition. It's not clear whether or not it qualifies on this point (although it certainly does on all other requirements).

Yeah, something like Melodyne would be nice..jon wrote:Channel strip in an actual vertical stip layout with foldable sections, frequency analyzer and loudness metering is still missing from this worldTurello wrote:I hope to see some (Maize Sampler Based) Acoustic Drums with multi out, some usefull Comp (with auto release), Parametric EQ or Channel Strip... That said, I'm hoping for more leftfield, creative or special things in general than comps, EQs and analog emulation synths.
Or a voice-to-midi recorder.
Or a Kontakt like or even compatible sampler, i.e a scriptable sampler, with granulator.
Or something like Nebula, i.e a general hardware simulator, but where the hardware would be described in a text file so that people can contribute and add different hardwares.
There is the word challenge in "KVR challenge", right ?
