Just contact APD for a new code. A few people have had this same issue. I have downloaded and registered the plug-in no problem, so no scam. I already had an Eventide, iLok and APD account, so maybe that made it easier.ijiwaru wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2019 2:59 pm where's my free plugin? I just spent twenty minutes registering new accounts with "AudioPluginDeals", Eventide and Pace, fully relinquishing my precious personal data to the marketing hounds, only to be informed that my my serial code is already in use? what gives? have I fallen victim to some kind of convoluted marketing scam?

Via emailed link I generated serial on Eventide page and it worked out of the box.

You should never give your personal details unless you're expecting a physical delivery of a product. Just enter gibberish in the name and address fields and create a special email just for these cases.ijiwaru wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2019 5:11 pm APD won't respond to my email. they're more than happy to take my personal data, of course.

Well I still haven't been issued a new code, even after contacting APD twice yesterday. I hope APD, Eventide and Pace enjoy the marketing data they harvested from me in exchange for nothing.Eventide sincerely apologizes for anybody that may have received an error message or had difficulty registering. Unfortunately, APD has a glitch that when two people sign up at the exact same time they are issued the same serial.
According to APD it only affected 1% of people but when you have tens of thousands of musicians, that number can add up.
From my understanding, APD is in the process of issuing new codes to those affected.

No, just contact audio plugin deals, they've probably run out of licences and need to get more, or something. I certainly for mine so it's a legit deal.ijiwaru wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2019 2:59 pm have I fallen victim to some kind of convoluted marketing scam?

I have contacted them twice. How can they have run out of licences? They're simply randomly generated codes.
I don't see what entitlement has to do with this either. I gave marketing data to three different companies with the expectation of receiving something in return. When I didn't receive this because my license had already been allocated to someone else (a problem which Eventide acknowledged on another thread in this forum), I followed Eventide's instructions and politely contacted APD (on a weekday, during their stated support hours) about getting a new code. After waiting 24 hours and not receiving any reply, I went to a web forum about audio software plug-ins to state these facts. Where is the entitlement? Unless you're one of those impotent boomers who thinks that any airing of grievances is somehow indicative of "entitlement" (and of course, you've never personally complained about something in your life before because you're a perfect stoic being) I fail to see any here.

Well, all 3rd party resellers have to "buy" in the licenses from the developer, usually in blocks. So they can run out of licences until the dev supplies more. Not saying this is the problem here. Or maybe Eventide screwed up.ijiwaru wrote: Sat Oct 26, 2019 8:14 amI have contacted them twice. How can they have run out of licences? They're simply randomly generated codes..
Anyway, no need to panic, you're not out any money and it is the weekend so hopefully you'll be sorted on Monday.
