The above mentioned things + the bug fixes would be cool.
The FM8 is the only synth in my stuff that don't have bigger gui.

Context and correct reading my friend. 149€ for an (possibly) abandoned synth is too much 89€ would be fine I think. However. This ->

Noo, no no..you're actually saying it is (your P.O.V.) the best FM synth.....and one of the best synths out there...context?? Where? You're just stating that it is the best FM synth and maybe even one of the best softsynths. In that context the price is legit. And i do feel the price is legit, to be honest. Because it is a fine synth. One of the better FM synths for sure.

Maybe you mean it is dated and therfor the price doesn't "feel" right??

You almost right (english is not my native language). You get to the heart of it. For a dated synth (handling only) its too pricey.

I think we should be happy that NI did not yet retire FM8. ;)

Concerning GUI size:

When designing patches I'm working in the standalone mode which uses a bigger Gui (it uses the windows DPI scaling feature). :D

:o Do not work on my system win7. Is this exclusive for newer OS?

As great as a new FM would be, I don't think it's too realistic to expect one. There are certainly no signs that there is anything coming in 2017 or anytime soon.

But one can always hope.

We do not need a new FM just a lil overhaul of FM8

Well, I'm not quite sure that's likely too. When was the last time any updates were made to FM8?

I have Windows 7.
Here a MS tech article which explains DPI scaling:

https://support.microsoft.com/de-de/kb/2900023

So, the disadvantage of this technique is that the GUI gets blurred.

No one want more complexity.
Speak for yourself. I'd give NI money for FM9 that came closer to FS1R territory and incorporated ZDF Filters and more flexible effects.

I'd be okay with that as long as it had at least a slightly more friendly UI than the DX7.

I don't know what's happened to NI. Their VSTis are out of date already. Only reactor stuff is going strong. But reactor stuff is CPU hungry and don't attract everybody. While they found their "spot" framework, customers don't care much. But that's about VST. They do good hardware, but that's a whole different story.

Even though they add things, they are too purist with respect to architecture, and at the same time not purist enough with respect to sound quality, that I don't expect much from them. They might surprise me, but the fact that they want to call it a DX something gives me my doubts.

This is one of those areas where I really don't understand the point of pure emulations.
