Still got my Atari in a suitcase in the cellar but no idea what happened to Notator. :?

Ah, the good old days? Or not?

I did like arranging in Notator though.

Back to the subject, I think one of the reason people don't discuss him much is because they still remember him looking and acting like an absolute wanker in the Housemartins videos.

Shame really.

I do envy him,...but only cause Jonny Ball is his father-in-law. I loved 'Think of a Number' as a kid. [Reminisces] :D

A bass player of a band I was once in swore blind that this happened to him;

He was driving one of those big vans one night and for some reason got the f**ker stuck under a low bridge. Anyway, a car pulls up behind and Johnny Ball gets out and helps him let down the tyres so he can get the van out! :-o

Hmmm, not sure if I ever believed him, but...........

I've got somewhere an interview with Norman Cook right after he quit the Housemartins but way before he became Fat Boy Slim. Seems he has been DJing and remixing for a long time, and the 'Martins gave him grief about it, even telling him that he was forbidden to pursue that interest if he wanted to stay in the band because "it wasn't cool" . (Norm said that he didn't like being in the band, and compared Housemartins fans to "anorak-wearing Smiths fans who just hung around their bedrooms writing suicide poems")

I just want to say I like Fat Boy Slim, it was "The Rockefeller Skank" that gave me the kick up the bum to start recording again :lol:

See, what a top bloke. Don't care if it's true!! I just know that if I had a scientific dilema, Jonny B would be the man I'd like by my side. :lol:

He did DJ then but his first remix was after. 1987, Erci B & Rakim - 'I Know you got soul'.

Thing was while Housemartins were supposed to be right-on northern student types who drink bitter down the local while playing dominoes, Mr Cook was really a dead posh wealthy southerner called Quentin!! :oops:

Ain't really Zappa's quote. Actually, it's not known who said this for the first time, but AFAIK Zappa has been ruled out.

Is it not the "bird" responsible for that quote. I see Zappa quoted on it all the time but I think it was C Parker.
