Cubase or logic from those, stick with it and be done. You are just making excuses to avoid working on music.

Which makes me a bit sceptical about the legitimacy of this thread, and the sale. I mean... who buys 4 of the most expensive DAW's, and then can't decide which one to use the best for electronic music...
I went to school for audio production and engineering and i needed to get them. That's why.
So you expect people who are probably less competent than you to take this decision for you? Hmmm...

Well, i'd say, pick Bitwig then. But, what does that mean for you now?
He is just asking a question... why be so aggressive and attacking?
I didn't mean to be aggressive. I just don't get how you can own 4 DAW's, been going to a school for audio production and engineering (they buy those softwares for all their students?? Wow, that's gotta be expensive...), and know so little about the DAW's, or the own demands, that you have to go online, and ask people with a completely different opinion for their opinions what you should use. That's sort of like studying IT, and then ask online which of the programming languages would be the best for driver applications, because you can't decide which one you should choose. Well, actually, it's worse than that. It's like throwing dice to figure out which one to choose.

No. Its like asking other experienced users their opinion. He already said that he bought the DAWs he uses in order to use them at college. The college didn't provide them.

I'd suggest using them all until you can make a more educated decision. Lots of people use more than one DAW.

Choose the one you like.

No one can tell you, especially if you give no details about your goals, workflow, preference or whatever. After a course in music making you should know something, right?

Well, i will rest my case then. Shame i didn't know this earlier, could have just gone on the net, and ask which DAW to use... would have saved me valuable time which i wasted making my own experiences, and figuring out which DAW suits me the best. ;)

My apologies for being rude. But someone has to tell him that what he does isn't exactly smart.

Even if that is true... so what? he is brand new to KVR and besides soliciting the experience of others, maybe just wants to have some conversation with fellow musicians and producers. Instead of saying hello and welcome, you start chewing on his leg like an attack dog. Are you like that in person? or is it the internet that makes people treat each other so aggressively?

Again, i don't see the point of doing what he does. If you do, fine. Decide for him what DAW he should use. It won't make him happy in the long run though, because it wasn't his decision, but rather what some fellas on the internet told him to do.

Take Logic as your main DAW. It can do everything you want.
I would use Bitwig as your experimental DAW for everything Electronic.
Eventually you'll figure out a way to use one DAW for everything you do and become a master :)

Well, I can't speak for the OP, but I can definitely sympathize with analysis paralysis from having too many choices. I'm sure this is a problem for many who collect a lot of DAWs, effects, and instruments.

I don't see the harm in asking for suggestions, but I would also want to know why a suggestion was made. A few members here have been kind enough to offer that perspective.

I have used a number of DAWs, but only 1 of the 4 on the OP's list, so I can't be of much help.

I can say, in my experience, that of those 4 choices (Bitwig, Logic, Reason, and Pro Tools) Logic seems to be the one most used by EDM producers.

But most probably not because it is the best suited for electronic music, but, rather because they all use Mac's, and Logic works the best. I don't see any reason why it would be better suited for electronic music than any of the others. So it's about the preferred workflow, and nobody can know (or decide) which kind of workflow the OP is preferring.

I don't know much about Pro Tools, maybe he's the ticket, considering it's industry standard, especially if you want to get in the bizz and all, you will have to get with the program eventually probably, so why not stick to PT from the get go. :tu:

You can use almost any DAW for EDM and hip hop, but you are left with few for remotely serious scoring, also for recording and mixing, again, as I recall, PT is the choice for many too.

Don't know how it stand against Cubase and Logic in MIDI department tho...

This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? :D ShawnG

I assume by "works the best," you're speaking to stability and/or performance?

As far as being "suited," I'm only talking about popularity, not particular fit.

Yep. At least that's always what i picked up, when people shared their experience about Mac DAW's.

I appreciate the opinions. Looks like logic would be best suited for me. Thanks for the help everyone :)
