Q2 - In arrangement view the top timeline will be bars & measures, but the bottom of the arrangement view window should show the normal time in minutes and seconds
Once again, my gratitude. Funny, I've used Live for years, newer noticed the time ruler.
However, it seems that Live doesn't tell the excact, numeric time, only the visual ruler(?)
I think there's a M4L device for that ... cant remember the name atm.

Didn't Apple stop patching Quicktime? Your computer will be under surveillance by Obongo.

And the format for this (the 'Time Ruler') can be changed to from ordnart time to various video time/frame settings eg 24fps and 25fps from Options>Time Ruler Format.

There's also Max4Live stuff like this

You mean the 64-bit version of Quicktime that never existed? No, they're still patching that same as always...

Thank you, can I see the time values in the numeric format, too, and where?
BTW, I don't have the suite.

Is this the only way getting excact numeric time values in Live? Anything similar outside the suite?

For video, ie at per-frame level, I think so. There are a couple of VST plugins that will give you time display in seconds etc, though eg

http://thepiz.org/plugins/?p=Big%20Clock

though that's not 64-bit I dont think, and Im not sure what is.

I personally recommend the codec pack K-Lite Mega Codec Pack listed at the bottom of that page: http://www.codecguide.com/download_k-li ... k_mega.htm

It's let me play back pretty much any single encoded video format I've every thrown at it !
Any idea if the Live/K-Lite compatibility has been broken? For some reason my Live 9.7 64 bit/Win 10 wont open anymore videos.
I have tried .mov, m2v and mpgs, Live crashes.
I have the latest K-Lite ver.13.35 installed.
If you look at the above Ableton recommendations, no mention of the K-Lite mega either. :?:
