Really? Where did you see that? When I go to softube.com/download it only gives you a link to download Gobbler. I'm not doubting you. I'm just not seeing it. :(
Go to your account on Softube and scroll to bottom of page where it says Download and theres a link to My Downloads which is what you want
But what you probably do NOT want is to give Gobbler your iLok account password...
No need, just log into Softube, its not mandatory to register for Gobbler, though they make it seem you do
Wow I thought it was - that was one of the things getting in the way of getting Modular for me (the other being preset management).

If someone REALLY knows how to authorize the Softube products WITHOUT giving your iLok account password to the Gobbler, please write instructions HERE.
I just tried to do that to my Softube product, the screen shots of that procedure below.
As you can see, when I said "no" the Gobbler access to my iLok account, I was thrown out and the my plugins remains unauthorized.

Yeah, I'd really like to know. I'm currently at zero softube products and if Gobbler is required I'm just going to say no.

Bad form Gobbler :(

Does anyone know, because I haven't tried this, if you can run iloks from two separate accounts on the same machine? I'm assuming two different hardware iloks here, not the soft licenser.

Preeeeetty sure iLok and PACE are the reason my computer is completely freezing now.

After purchasing Storm Drum 3, when I was in the process of installing it, PACE insisted that they be updated. SO I went with the update, but half way through, it said I need a Windows update before I can install the PACE update. So, I installed the pending Windows updates, and then installed PACE again, and then attempted to installed Storm Drum 3.

Half way through the 80GB download, my computer hangs. Like, dead, nothing doing. Even the clock on my keyboard stopped. So I hard reset, and everything has been wonky since. I managed to install Storm Drum, and it works, but my computer continues to hang at random. A very slow hang too, where slowly applications just stop working.

I am in the process of trying a system restore right now, because either PACE is borked, or the installation was borked. But something is borked.

Hey, isn't putting all of our trust in to a black box of DRM wonderful? Isn't purposely including failure points in our software lovely? Isn't it great when you have deadlines and you can't use the software that you need to earn your living?

If there are alternatives to using iLok (ie, becoming dependent on it working as intended), please point me in the right direction.
A heaping dose of outrageously goofy synth tracks, scores and chiptunes.

So to be clear, I loves my iLok, I just don't trust letting Gobbler have access based on what I've been reading.

Exactly, I have about 40 iLok products, no problem with any other developer, the Softube way to let someone 3rd party take care of the iLok authorizations is unique. And stupid: prevents at least my additional Softube purchases, after I was left the latest unauthorized because I don't wan to hand out my iLok password to the Gobbler.

You should never have to give your iLok password to anyone - any other site asks for your username at most

Post

Oh hang on - is that password request on the iLok page rather than the Gobbler one ? If so I think that's probably a non-issue then, it's not giving them the password just connecting accounts and it's using your password as authorization ...

Yep! That's all that's needed to deposit a license, which is all the f**k any third party should be doing.

That's an important point. Still, just give me the damned iLok auth code like everydamnbody else!

Just register the plugin via the iLok manager

VariKusBrainZ wrote:Just register the plugin via the iLok manager
This is something new to me.
So far, after about 40 iLok registers, the procedure always (except the Softube) has been:

1. You purchase a license
2. You register it in the developers site and give
at the same time your iLok account username
3. Developer sends the registration to PACE/iLok
4. The license appears to your iLok License
Manager
5. You send license to your computer/iLok key

Your comment gives the picture that I could register the license directly via my iLok Manager with my license/serial number.
Could you educate me how to do this kind of authorization, without the developer (or Gobbler, in the Softube's case)? :?:
