out of curiosity: 'him' was meant to be 'vurt' or 'wopelka'... ?PugFace wrote:You can rely on him to take the Posts down to the lowest denominator.TTOZ wrote:vurt wrote:is emote like masturbate cos ive thought about pink a few times![]()
but, i was actually trying to do a serious topic(for once)![]()
wopelka summed it up perfectly, "the moments when the music really moves you are really precious."
Oh yeah ......

Thanks for not taking the piss. She wants to be a teacher and is doing TEFL to get the required experience for teacher training. I did have money to go visit her but we had a falling out (via email and messenger) and in my rage I spent it on a Delta66 Omni Studio, Oxygen8 and MA-20D monitors!TTOZ wrote:holy cow that's quite a long distance relationship. i don't know how you can possibly wait until March, BUT, it's wonderful that you have something special, better than not having it at allKarbon L. Embrace seem to touch a nerve with the ballads they do. I suppose it's because of the subject matter and the fact that I miss my girlfriend (She's 8000km away and I won't see her until march)
The Cure can upset me as well.
We know she is 8000Km away.
Never get uptight over one single woman. There are billions of em'

Personal thing, but no ladies voice does it for me. A baritone male only, can feel what I feel.
Scott Walker - practically anything, but 'Montague Terrace In Blue' is immense, 'Lights Of Cincinatti' ... 'My Ship Is Coming In' .. THE voice.
Elvis - 'My Boy', 'Suspicious Minds', 'Always On My Mind'.
Stuart Staples (Tindersticks) 'No More Tears', 'My Ruin',
Lenny Cohen - again, anything.
Jeez, I could go on for ages.
BTW - 'Lynda' Carpenter????? Karen?

Fred Astaire.
A completely selfless interpreter of song.
Always makes me misty.
Good Sinatra Does, too. Bad Sinatra makes me want to kill something, which I guess passes for making me emote...

Um...two words: Willie Nelson.WHAT A f**king AMAZING SONG.! yes of COURSE i love the Elvis version, but, you'll probably shoot me for this, I really enjoyed Fantasia Barrino's rendition in American Idol.
He actually sounds like he means it. So much of what passes for feeling in singing these days is just disingenuous affectation...
I mean, come on. Does every r&b diva sound the exact same when they feel something?
Of course they don't. It's just technique...vocal "licks".
Boooooring. Gimme an old bastard whose life comes out through his voice any day...like Willie, Waylon and Me.
Whoops!...I meant: Willie, Waylon and Cash.

Nocturnal Rites' new vocalist Jonny Lindkvist. Especially in the song "Faceless God." Very dark and intense.
Manowar's vocalist Eric Adams. Especially in the early stuff. Some of the songs on Battle Hymns, especially "Dark Avenger" and most of Into Glory ride.
Nevermore's Warrel Dane. Great vocalist, his range is declining with time but his performances are really intense.
I know I'm forgetting a few. There's lots of great vocalists out there, but very few can be really intense.
