Pretty sure it will have VST3 and MPE support, even deeper Push integration and improved=more flexible window/region management.

A nice skin.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

I still have my Live 9 license too... and for sure have expected to upgrade to 10... but as time goes by, it has started to feel less sure. For quite few years I've wanted Ableton to focus more on the core application but it seems like they are not so interested in that area. Always more devices and lots of content and focus on Push integration (all of which can be useful and some of which I like) but not much on the core application and adding creative advancement in the Session View.

Bitwig is slowly, steadily rounding into shape and between Bitwig and Logic (as needed), Live may well be the odd one out.

What makes you say that? Wishful thinking? or you know something?

I dunno, I agree (and I have bitwig, happily) but one really annoying thing about the abes is that I took the big expensive dive (live 9/push) and they rewarded me with push two.

Now, in my pee-brained thoughts, I hear the term "hardware integration" and I break out in cold-sweats as I personally thought they dropped the ball with the original push/live combo. :scared:

The 'browser' is still a bloody mess. M4L stuff and packs all over the place, no way to organise them.

Yes, I also bought/sold Push 1 - I wanted to like Push, but it wasn't for me and a lot of Live developement is focused around Push. I use a linnstrument 128 with Bitwig and for me that is a much more interesting and useful combination.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

You can say that again! :hihi:

I still have my Push 1 and it works fine for triggering clips/scenes in Bitwig.

I was on the fence about the Linnstrument... but then I learned that there is not going to be a Linnstrument 2 and that any hardware improvements that may come in the future, existing users will be able to also upgrade to because it has an upgradable modular construction... in other words, I do not have to worry about buying one and 6 months later the Linnstrument 2 would come out and I would be dead-ended. I so appreciate that approach rather than the common method of pressuring people to keep buying the latest new hardware because cool stuff was purposefully left out as enticement for the next upgrade. That plus all the new functionality over the past 6 months finally pushed me past the waiting period. I'm getting a full size Linnstrument this week or next... which makes Live go bye-bye... unless there is MPE support in Live 10

Midi note/cc chase

Not sure why this isn't higher on the Centercode FR list, but I suspect it's because people don't know what they're missing...

No insider info, but not only wishful thinking either. VST3 and MPE are both soon to be standard DAW features. They are 100% committed to Push. Window management is a weak area in Live, a weakness that Bitwig targeted. While Bitwig isn't a threat, it's easy for Ableton to pick the best parts from BWS and thus never let them be a threat in the future at all.

There is room for both... so I agree it is not a threat, but I switched from Live to Bitwig because Bitwig has been doing the sort of stuff I've wanted in Live for years.

Besides Push, Ableton is also committed to M4L which I just do not like to depend on. I really do not want to have to install and launch a separate application just to add an LFO. There is the MPE stuff, there is the multi-clip editing, opening multiple projects, integrated modulation system, histograms, better group handling, better audio editing, better integration between Launcher and Arrange, better GUI, etc etc...

Maybe Live 10 will surprise me, but I stopped expecting Ableton to focus on the core application and instead add stuff to it... like M4L, Push, content, new Devices, filters from 3rd parties etc.

All of the above, good improvements!

Multi clip edit for sure.
VST3 support
Polyphonic afterthouch
Much more flexible audio routing

I love Bitwig for its handling of routing, it'd be great in Live if you could select anything as a source to a sidechain instead of duplicating tracks and sending them.

Proper LFO built in would be handy, with no limit to mod destination. Best feature in Bitwig for me.
