It works well for what I need, with the JBL LSR305s on the top shelf on either side of my new 24" monitor. I keep the MIDI keyboard, headphones and audio interface on the main desk below that, and then the wireless keyboard and mouse on the pull-out shelf below the keyboard. This should probably be in a different part of the forum as it is about desks, but at least I have Falcon on the screen.

I have the same one! I like it. It's not perfect. But it's big, it fits everything and didn't break the bank (I got mine with amazon. ) It's on rollers which is convenient, and it's pretty sturdy.

Overall, it's a tough deal. Price/type, it's really convoluted in choices imnsho.

i need a new desk too.

not now though, when we move. ill be setting up a room in the basement that will serve quadruple duty as an office/music/kids playroom/gues sleep area. the room is pretty large so one half will be the office/music area...and the other half will be the playroom/guest sleep area.

anyway...because the room is kind of large, my plan is to run an extra long double desk along the back wall using various modular ikea stuff, mainly linmon table tops and alex drawers...will look kinda like this, only without the wall unit:

mine will probably be a bit longer...one side will be dedicated to music...the other, my regular computer. i havent decided if im going to make a slide out drawer for the midi keyboard yet. the music side will look a bit like this, with a couple of tweaks:

i very much like this idea for monitor stands...so ill most likely incorporate it in. will only be like an extra 15 bucks per stand:

going modular with ikea stuff seems like the best bang for buck, while also allowing for a more custom desk that fits the space and my needs.

Go desk-less? I did. Love it. Put the 88 and synth on a spider. Only use a laptop stand for the mouse and data entry, gets knocked around some. Got a couple of these things for the mixer and monitor control and all that...

First thought I'd use drum cage plumbing but couldn't find a way to attach an ergotron to it. Just picked up a freestanding display mount instead. Whatever. Desks f*ckin suck.
