Where do you see that price, the upgrade is listed at $190 from what I can see.
Bottom of this page under Upgrades: https://www.pianoteq.com/buy

Actually it is quoted in Euros not dollars

I play on a Steinway baby grand at my teacher's house weekly and the model D in Pianoteq 6 sure feels like it. Sustained notes with damper intermingle in the right way, sympathetic resonance works well, half pedaling is spot on. I'm amazed they're able to do all of this in about 100MB.

Highly recommended.
Hard to imagine, because I think 5 sounds better than every sampled piano that I have. In fact, it's the only piano I use when I want a "real" piano. Hard to believe that 6 can be that much better.
Well, it does. In every regard :)

I do like the improved pianos & clavinet in 6.
At first listen though, I lean more toward 5 for the W1 bright & vibraphone.
Sometimes 'clarity' can sacrifice the bite, bark or growl I love in a good electric.
I love the improved Vibe, especially the B model sounds miles better to me, and the Glock is amazing.
Listening and playing are two very different things!
After playing for the last 1-1/2 hours, I agree with you.
Noticeably better, and the electrics didn't lose any 'bite, bark, or growl'.

Well worth the upgrade price IMO.

Amazing.. :tu:
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

One possible bug - some of my patches I saved with microtunings are opening with the keyboard no longer mapped across all octaves. It seems to be opening the tuning but not the same keyboard map for some files.

Post

i've owned pianoteq for years, but rarely use it. 6, however... am really liking it, and will definitely use it (5 was good, 6 IS better)...

Ok, thanks. Just a tiny bit higher for the US, we don't have to pay VAT though.
I love pianoteq, but have never really been sold on the standard or pro versions
due to the substantial price difference, for features I have never missed all these
years. One day maybe...

-Cheers

I see what's happening - the new tuning page seems to no longer include the old '88 notes scale' keymap. All the patches not opening properly used that one.

Agreed ED. I used to shy away from the D and K models and stuck to the Bluthner and Grotrian. Now I have a hard time choosing which to play: sometimes one makes me happier than others. They also tweaked the stereo field too. It feels a lot more like I'm sitting at a piano, at least for the Prelude presets.

It's really well done to my ears at least. I can definitely hear a difference between 5 and 6 (it didn't uninstall 5 and I did a bit of A/B with midi clips).
Feel free to call me Brian.

Nice release! Instant purchase.

I only have the Stage version at this time and had mixed impressions about Pianoteq 5. However, based on my preliminary tests, I will definitely use Pianoteq more often in the future and, when on sale, invest in a few more instrument packs.

I might upgrade to the Standard version later. Personally, I do not write a lot of heavily focused piano songs, but a few diehard Gospel and R&B pianist do record at my project studio. They would benefit from the increased options of the Standard version.

Post

it would be cool if they could combine Pianoteq with Waves NX tech and the head tracker, so that there could be an illusion of actually sitting in front of the paino.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Is anyone here able to run the latest version of:
(Pianoteq 6), on Windows XP ?

Post

I don't think XP is supported any longer. It's a dead OS, stop using it. :D
