You must see the Roland JP8000 in Summary. Not only the OSC´!The filter and that ,,strange´´ ADSR make him so unique. With a couple of Plugins it should be still possible to create close sounds to the JP for the mix. Side by side is allways pain.

I hate to say this but v-station might get you unbelievably close to the overall tone (but does not have the feedback osc but a 3rd osc instead)
JP is not a HQ synth but rather old tech...still sounds quite good.

Not exactly the Novation V-Station (that i got too here) but currently i wanted to create some typical Supersaw/Hypersaw sounds and decided to use my Novation UltraNova for this (while i also got several different plugins for such kind of sounds including Diva that i alraedy mentioend here).yul wrote:I hate to say this but v-station might get you unbelievably close to the overall tone (but does not have the feedback osc but a 3rd osc instead)
UltraNova has the 2 "Density" parameters in all 3 Oscs that work like a Supersaw/Hypersaw but for ALL waveforms of the synth and independent for all 3 Oscs and als independent from the global Unison that is included too. One of those parameters adjusts the amount of detuned waveforms and the other one the detune amount (comparable to the corresponding parameters in the Supersaw).
With a signal analyzer i found that with the UltraNova density feature you could get 5 detuned Saws (or other waveforms) per Osc so you get up to 15 with all 3 Oscs used and even more with the global Unison added (which has up to 4 voices).
With 3 Oscs and the Density feature used in all 3 i was able to get some seriously fat sounds that i really like. The 12dB LPF i nUltraNova also seem to be abe to sound bright enough to not "destroy" that kind of sounds by sounding to dark like several othr synths. With the dual filter you coudl also ad an additional HPF to the LPF (in series).
FWIW i had already used that feature for several sounds (including typical digital ones) but rarely for classic Supersaw stuff. So far i did rarely use this with the maximum amount of detuned waveforms and a big amount of detuning.

Soooooo.. What did you end up using? I landed on Adam Szabo JP6k. But I am curious about Diva as well.lvntains wrote: Wed Feb 21, 2018 10:21 am I was very busy in the last months. At least the thread was "dead" in october 17, didn't thought of any reviving posts.

V-Synth and System 1+ System 8 do not sound like the real super saw in JP8000. They are more soft. So I heard the same about Diva, that it's closer to V-synth.

Eh, this is an old vsti that kind of gets you in the ball park, but not really. It's ok to mess with.
I've owned a JP-8000 since buying it brand new. Cool synth but the truth is I've barely touched, and have never made a song with it. I know Gary Numan used one a lot for one album I really liked. I'm not really techno guy, but the JP-8000 can sound pretty tough, industrial, and electronic if you try to make it. I haven't tried all the JP-8000 clones but the one's I have don't really sound the same on the whole.

Corona has JP-8000 super saw as well as enough architecture to do the same as such synth.
