Tried it this afternoon and could not get it to play the movie, it has given me some problems recently. Maybe if I say nice things to it it will work

I can listen to it all day....
Shining and beautiful in all its tempered glory...
This is fantastic Bruce... The sounds are warm and great

i had to switch off at 2mins 30 sec after still not hearing any theramin. you simply cannot dare to give something a name like this and not feature a theramin. the original featured one of the best ever examples of a theramin sound.
this is misleading advertising.

Yep - this is right there with Dad's stuff. Very very very nice indeed.
I can certainly hear the juxtaposition of a theramin within it, but maybe it doesn't need any of the voice overs you mention? I bet you could probably just add the theramin similar to the movie and people would grok the vibe.
Still a great film and part of my collection for many years - just like 'Forbidden Planet' and 'This Island Earth'.
Did I just say "grok the vibe" ?? oh me....

Hopefully that will be rectified soon. It is blasphemy to not include it here, I am repentent.had to switch off at 2mins 30 sec after still not hearing any theramin. you simply cannot dare to give something a name like this and not feature a theramin. the original featured one of the best ever examples of a theramin sound.

I listened to Bluedads piece also and it is very good. No pissing contest here. We are equals.Bluedad's "vurx" and this song sound v-e-r-y similar.... hmmm. I like yours better tho. Good effort

Thanks Gary, but I like your piece better. Nice guitar like tones and without guitar. Samples, yes, but still. One note sequences can be cool. I used one at the end here.hell, I like it better too!

Thanks Xander, The voice samples were what inspired it in the first place so i feel they need to be there but they won't be in the way just a few select spots. You named three of my favorites, I should try a Forbidden Planet inspired tune next. Great Idea. Thamks

New Mix (added some eq and one sample) Never realized how dificult it would be to try and add voice samples to music. I had a hard time finding the right place for the 4 samples i chose. I ended up using only one. it fits real nice in the mix.

If you are able to do it that would be great, if not, I still love you John. but you will owe me a korg as a penalty.
Seriously tho, if it don't work out I still have a great tune. You will have to do a theramin for my next project, a Forbidden Planet tribute

Excellent.
You know, 'Day' was great because it didn't follow the 'same old' when it came to the plot, and the science and premise was reasonable.
Forbidden followed the increasingly popular formula - where you had to have the 'whacky crew member in hilarious conflict with mechanical man' (Robot vs. cook) but for the time, the matting and FX were awesome for the time - especially the 'Krellian Laboratories' scenes and the 'monster' melting through the blast doors, slowly, steadily - with mindlessly evil intent making it's way toward our heroes - scared me shitless when I was a kid - and again, the science was cool. Inspired hundreds of similar, less absorbing movies, for sure.
I digress
The new mix sounds great!

I have been slowly getting my classic scifi dvd collection together, Forbidden Planet was the first one I got. I would love to find the soundtrack cd for that (as well as The day the Earth Stood Still). I also got Things to come and Third Encounters, and Earth Versus the Flying Saucers.
I will let you know when I am ready with forbidden Planet. Hopfully this weekend.
