Lots of interesting new features for sure in this release, but... will we also be able to rename plug-ins in the VST Manager now? Fingers crossed.

I can see how these new features can appeal to some people, but to me personally none of them matter. It all boils down to each person's individual workflow, so to some these things matter, to others they don't.
I for one couldn't care less about VCA, plugin sentinel, lower zone, sampler track, automation curves, updated VST3 GUIs etc. Actually, I'm still running v8.52 here.
To me a far bigger "feature" would be that Cubase stops crashing each time I exit the program (so I have to reboot my PC).
Also, it would be highly appreciated that they remove the plugin folder re-scan every time the clock changes.

At last... is the best summary of the 9.5 update! Wow... They implemented a file browser. I wonder how good it works. It should be usable for all file formats (audio, midi and presets).

Hope they have adreesed the workflow of trimming automation, which to me matters much more than curves. Can I select a range and trim automation without having to draw 4 points or draw a line, adjust its slope by cmd+click to revert ot to 0, and then adjust the level? Really, automation workflow in Cubendo is the most tedious automation work in any current DAW and I hope they have addressed it. This would mean an instant purchase for me.
EDIT: Ok, I have seen they have addressed this, wooow this looks like the best Cubase upgrade in a while or probably the best ever..much much better than last “full-number” updates.

This is due to your system rather than Cubase. I have never had this problem.raysaul wrote:To me a far bigger "feature" would be that Cubase stops crashing each time I exit the program (so I have to reboot my PC).

Have you tried downloading and installing the v9.0.20 trial version (alongside your existing v8.52), to see how that goes.? Just an idea...

Sometimes it's a certain plugin, or combination of plugins. I used to get it, until I stopped using Jamstix. As always, ymmv.maximoog wrote:This is due to your system rather than Cubase. I have always 'seen' older versions of izotope software sometimes being the cause. Ensure you are fully updated with their software if you use them.

I've had this problem since Cubase 6 and on two differenct computers with clean installs of Windows. On the Cubase forum people have suspected its caused by a rewire.dll which is installed with Ableton. I cannot belive how Steinberg has neglected fixing this problem for years.Googly Smythe wrote:Sometimes it's a certain plugin, or combination of plugins. Cubase crashing on exit is an old, well known problem (just google it) and is not related to particular system configurations. It's a bug and they know it. There are some workarounds and "solutions" posted online by various people, but they don't work.maximoog wrote:This is due to your system rather than Cubase. I will try the iZotope plugins tip to see if it helps, but I don't think it's plugin related because it often crashes if I exit after working on a project *without* plugins. If, on the other hand, I saved the project which had some plugins in it and then exit, it exits ok.
It's a weird bug.
Anyway, this is a topic for another thread perhaps, I don't want to derail it further.
The only new feature I kinda like is more inserts and movable pre/post slot, but since this feature is long overdue, my BlueCat Patchwork will continue to serve me fine for this, so no need to upgrade yet.
EDIT: I didn't know about the Ableton/rewire issue, I'll investigate that (because I indeed am also using Ableton, so it could be that).
Carry on.
