Bitwig was introduced back in 2014. It's a DAW with potential but development has been really slow.

I disagree... It has developed more since its launch than most DAW's having during the same time period.

Bitwig certainly isn’t perfect, but it has improved a lot since it was launched and it is still a relative newcomer developed by a small independent team.

We should all be greatful that people are still trying to develope new DAWs, especially people with real innovation developing unique features that no other DAWs have.

You don’t have to like or use Bitwig and can of course highlight missing features or weaknesses (as we could do for any DAW) but why not just congratulate a small team who are trying to make something a bit different.

Well done the Bitwig team, I hope the award means you sell a few more DAWs, and I hope that brings in the money to fund faster development and even more innovation.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Probably because they borrowed the brain of ableton's developer who sculpt the finished product from design and concept, and rode well-martketed bandwagon ?

It would be nice if, just for once, someone could say something positive or make a nice gesture around here without it turning into a pissing match. But that hasn't happened since I joined here in 2003 so I'm probably dreaming!

Back on topic - congrats to the Bitwig team. Not perfect by any means but powerful and with unique features that help it stand apart. A good effort (and ongoing) from a small team in a very difficult and competitive market. And congrats also to all the other DAWs - there's still plenty of innovation to be had in this market and there doesn't have to be one DAW to rule them all. Variety and healthy competition is good.

+1 for a kvr safe space.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

Yeah, that is a nice dream... unfortunately, it's a pretty mean place.

Have you even used Bitwig? The fact it has Clip Launcher and Arranger - like Live, but better - isn't its defining thing. The workflow, flexibility and modulation are.

Also, there's no shame in using good ideas, especially if you improve on them, which Bitwig did.

To be fair, it's a popularity contest, with everyone who has the link (not just MR' 'readers') being able to vote. And part of FL's popularity is due to it being heavilly pirated. I'm not sure I know any legit user.

Any proof of that? Because from the issues I've bought & read they're covering all major DAWs quite evenly, e.g. in #250 there's article on 20 tricks in each DAW ( think 7 or 8), #251 has a big article on Live 10, etc.
Now wait a minute, you are NOT SURE if you do actually know any legit user of FL?

In your case, I suppose that's an understatement. 8)

Do anyone see mean people recently? I think it's been well balanced.

I meant that of the FL users I know, many openly say they use pirated copy, some implied they do but I've not asked everyone, because that's not my business. Hence I'm not sure if I know any legit user. I might :)

Also, I'm not sure what you're implying with "in your case"? Or is it just a figure of speech?

PS In any case, I am willing to discuss this topic with the legitimate users of Bitwig. So to speak.

I am one of them, btw
