This should be great for all people using Melodyne.

STOP THIS FAD!
I'm not a fan of flat, but I do much prefer the new designs as a matter of UX.

They aren't nicer to look at, but thusfar are much easier to use.

Grrrrrreat update, woaaahhh.

This thing just keeps on giving.
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? :D ShawnG

I haven't gotten my hands on them yet. How do you find them easier to use?

Another Logic release that doesn't fix the tempo copy-and-paste bug which destroys tempo curves. Option-dragging a tempo selection works. Copy-and-paste does not. The bug was introduced in 10.2.

So which Mac OS is the minimum required? Over on Logic Pro Help people are saying 10.12 is the minimum. Apple's own specifications page on the Logic X page says 10.11.

Oh crap - that's a kick in the teeth. I'm still on El Cap - not installing buggy High Sierra

Wow, what an update for a free one, it could be easily numbered as 10.5.
This one out-shadowed Ableton Live 10 and Bitwig 2.3 in specs for an update, especially considering it's free one, IMHO :)!

I agree, no way I'll install high sierra unless Apple force me with these kind of updates, but it should work fine with 10.11. I am on Sierra and planing to stay for a while.

Exactly. My MacBook Pro 5,5 isn't even supported by the OS at all, and my iMac is running okay with El Capitan and all i hear about High Sierra is "BUGS!"

Is High Sierra even supported by all the hardware and software out there yet? (and i mean the stuff not already abandoned). TC Electronic doesn't indicate support for High Sierra, just Sierra. It's not like we can choose to update to the second-most recent version of Mac OS... :x

EDIT: Anyone using TC Electronic Konnekt devices? i found a thread where some people say it works with High Sierra and some say it doesn't. http://forum.tcelectronic.com/topic/226 ... patibility

Not if it refuses to install on systems under 10.12

Damn, there has to be workaround, we'll find out soon, I guess..I remembered there was similar situation years ago with certain V9 update when I had to change something in installer to be able to install on "non-supported" OSX version, hopefully something will came out.
Meanwhile, Sierra is pretty ok and safe to update to, though not perfect. (last great OSX was Snow Leopard, I think)

You could hack the support of Logic 9, sure, but the App Store wont let you buy/download at all if your OS doesn't meet the minimums.

At this rate, an OS is only supported for two years. i moved to Apple because they were better than Microsoft. (WERE better; WERE) Not so i could be pressured into forced upgrades and throwing away 3-year-old hardware because of the concurrence of software/hardware that results in being forced to upgrade everything because of needing to upgrade one thing.

How are we supposed to have an "ecosystem" of products when we're not allowed to keep one for more than three years? i'm in poverty! Struggling to even have somewhat recent devices is hard enough, but having a complete "ecosystem" is becoming impossible. Unless you buy everything all at one time and then trash and replace it all at one time, you get stuck with subpar performance (iOS devices) and then bullied by update notifications.

Apple are out of their effing minds!!!!
