Aly still posts occasionally on facebook (he's a new dad so pretty busy), sent out the following at xmas

"Merry Xmas everybody! I was off from social medias but still working, SAMPLight VST is a big beast :) Spectrum analysis and re-synthesis will finally be at the party with an interesting set of new features..all with what matters the most: the TRUE SOUND of a variable sample rate technology..! I will definitely start to post news again for 2018!
------Temporary 2018 RoadMap--------------------
I should have a public Samplight beta around February but will post dev updates along the way.
From there I will get back at the x64 support and finish to update VSDSX, OBXTreme and Elastic Bender to v2.0
I am still in need to update my main dev computer over January.
The Goal is to have OSX native support at the end of the year.
THANKS 4 YOUR SUPPORT!"

Yeah I know what he post on his FB.. ..now we have march but no public beta and no dev updates along the way.. ..don't get me wrong I'm only sad..
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

MadGav from VAZ is #1 - still haven't found a software modular I like near as much. His day job is/was developing software for pharmacy pill dispensing machines. If he could have fused his two interests into a substance-dispensing modular synth, it would have been game over for pretty much every other developer, and a landmark in electronic music history! :D

I loved Benedict Roff-Marsh's SynthEdit creations, each one was focused on deeply exploring a fairly narrow range of intriguing possibilities.

Wish Ross Bencina would actively develop AudioMulch further.

tweakbench website says "Work on 64-bit versions is underway!" and they are now 99c each instead of free I only recently noticed this because I wanted to play with them again so maybe there is hope but I have no idea how long the website has said that for

Website is still live and every time I check they still sell everything 50% off

Literally speaking, of course H G Fortune, Tim Conrardy.
In the "MIA/not developing any more" sense:

Boris Kovalev (AlgoMusic, M-RGT)
Ted Stones (Saltline)- I think he just moved on to other interests
Eric Langou (Novaflash)- http://www.numerisson.com/novaflash/README.txt
de la Mancha
Chris Sciurba (Ugo Audio)

There's others, but Mr. Clock says "Back to work".

Page 2 and nobody mentioned Arguru?
I think the first time I saw his name it was on some machines in Jeskola Buzz...
He coded so many things, I believe his legacy is still alive.

The late GREAT Stephen Howell aka Hollow Sun is a developer whose skills, talent, enthusiasm and humor I truly miss.
Thankfully his website and store still operate,Mario aka Evil Dragon was his partner so I suspect he helps keep it running.

Jorgen of EnergyXT DAW.

Brilliant designer.

Never replies to his still active (dead) forum page.

Doubt if he answers emails either.

Amaranth Audio. Cycle was unique and his roadmap sounded very promising. Hopefully he’ll return.

Linplug. Good quality stuff.

Camel Audio. At least they’re (he? Is) sorta alive. =)

Post

1. Camel Audio- this still leaves me feeling burned.
2. LinPlug- I hated to seem them leave. They had some really cool products, and even cutting edge at one point.
3. reFX- After ditching some great plugs, they went with a ROMpler...nothing wrong there, but I see no new development. The soundpacks can be credited to Vengeance, so reFX is basically dead.
4. HG Fortune- what a loss.
5. GForce Software- Nothing new in a long time, except a few sound packs for M-Tron. Would love to see some new dev there.
6. Kong Audio- No updates or new products. What they crafted, they crafted well. I would just love to see more.
7. LennarDigital and Reveal- I know these two are still around, and each crafted great synths that really don't need much more. But surely they are not one and done, right?

So basically every developer that has ever come and gone will be mentioned at some point if this thread goes long enough....... :hihi:

Start another thread about developers you wouldn't miss if they were deceased.
