it depends on the brand of the power supply. if it is ms or some other 2- or 3-letter company, it is better to ditch it and buy a proper 500w psu like antec or enermax. an 350w enermax can deliver more power than a 500w noname crap psu.Sepheritoh wrote:

and you did half-right thing - right because you got a new psu, and wrong for buying a noname unit. a p4 cpu can eat up as much as 90 w of power, and if the graphic card is one of the stronger ones (radeon above 9200, geforce above 5200), and you have a newer motherboard with all the goodies and fast ram, the power reserves get depleted pretty soon. i wont even start mentioning the disks and cd burners.
