I used it many moons ago and for each port you could have 16 channels.
Are you saying it no longer works like that?

no, im saying the midiout plugin that sends information to the hw doesnt seem to allow me to assign where its getting input from individually. if i change 1 port...i change them all...i need them to be separate ports...not channels.
i already have the channels set up....the channels determine the output of the midiouts...not the input to them.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!Chapelle wrote:Well, first of all, you're probably not sending the MIDI data from Nora through the MIDI Out channels in FL Studio, but directly from Nora to your hardware. If you use Nora, and set the output port to 0, you don't need an additional MIDI Out channel in Fl Studio, afaik.
I'm not familiar with Nora, but a quick look at the manual suggests that it sends MIDI data to all channels, by default. I think you have to setup Nora, so that it outputs MIDI only to a single channel.
Here's a picture from the manual, try setting "Out" to the channel you want, instead of "All":
that worked like a charm. i had not even considered that i could just do it from nora and bypass the fls midiout entirely. now to check if nova and a few others work that way.

before i read chapelles far more elegant solution...i did figure out a way to do what i wanted.
the answer was to use patcher and just hook things up in there.
now the problem is that i cant get them on separate mixer inserts...but im not sure thats possible since all the audio comes in through 1 usb cable. you see i have assigned 2 insets but the audio only comes through on 1.
thanks for all the help everyone.

yes...im only using a little 2x2 presonus audiobox usb. i have the 4 synths daisy chained via mdi and then all the audio going into a behringer xenyx 1002 and out from that into the audiobox then to the pc via usb.Chapelle wrote:Whether it is possible depends on your audio interface. If you are connecting the synths via separate inputs of your audio interface, it should be possible.chaosWyrM wrote:now the problem is that i cant get them on separate mixer inserts...but im not sure thats possible since all the audio comes in through 1 usb cable. you see i have assigned 2 insets but the audio only comes through on 1.
The mixer tracks that you assign to the Patcher channels are irrelevant, because Patcher only takes care of the MIDI side of things here.
You would have to set the audio inputs of the mixer channels (on the top right, above the plugin slots) to their respective inputs of the audio interface.
i cant have the audio on separate mixer inserts within the daw like that. thus making this whole thing pointless...except i did learn some things to keep in mind for the future. and i just wanted to make it work...and i did, so im cool for now.
