I listened to both versions in succession. I think I get why you put the drums in, add a sibilant timbre and keep it from being too somnambulent, but I'm taken with the plain version. Very dreamy indeed, and the synthetics stand out more to good effect.

I liked both versions, but in the end I'd vote for the plain track. Unless, of course, I were to cook up a little ethnic festival of drums to replace the trap kit! ha. When you get your StormDrum kit sorted, maybe you bless us with a third version?

Seriously, though, I thought the plain one worked better as self expression than the other, but only slightly. Both were excellent listens and I'm so glad you exist to bring these sonic excursions to life.

not sure though... i think, from listening more to the non loop percussion version i prefer it too now.. the drums had been on it for a while so i'd kinda got used to it..

it takes fresh ears sometimes

Hauntingly beautiful Fitch, it relaxes one's soul immediately. I prefer the plain version, because there are less "boundaries" and you can get lost in the mood easier without rythmn.

Anymore tunes to download? I'll check you site

Not much for me to do other than concur with the sentiments that this is a beautiful, haunting track.

I think that it's a very succesful mix of classical and electronic media. I would like to see more squiggles and gleegs here and there to keep up the electronic side of things, but it's not my track

Regarding the Plain/Drums comparison, for me it's the Plain without the slightest shadow of a doubt. I think that the drums reduce and detract from the otherwise huge emotional impact that the cello/electronica create.

I think it goes without saying, that this is one of the finest pieces of music to have appeared on this forum.

I think I'll have to check out the Ambiencellist CD out, if the quality's anywhere near as outstanding as this

Very impressed.

personally i prefere the mix with the drums.
On the other hand, if it is supposed to be relaxing, the one without the drums is the best.

How on earth did you get that cello sound ???
