Here's another option. It records MP3's up 160 Kbs through a stereo line-in port, direct to 20 GB harddrive. Plug it into any PC/MAC USB port and use like any external USB harddrive. It does require a pre-amp for your stereo microphone, since it records through line-in port. About the same price as a cheap MD recorder and you can transfer freely to and from your computer.

Thx frootbat, Im hoping to record to an uncompressed file format...I don't see anywhere in the details that says it can record anything other than MP3...it is another option tho
