well, if you do something along the line of the stuff on your soundclick page, I think you'll do well.pheeleep wrote: I don't think hip hop, which is one of my specialties, cuts it at KVR.. so I am just wondering what style I should go for..

Oh.. well thank you so much for taking a listen to my stuff
I really appreciate it when someone takes the time to listen to my music. Thanks so much. Those songs are really old by the way
happy you like them though.. for sure..
I am saving all the new stuff for the album that should be out by the end of this year..
Okay well then that's what I'll make then.. a fusion of hip hop/electronica/trip hop/soundtrack music
You can't be referring to Proton Theory, the first song, which is totally hip hop.. lol..

I listened to all three, I liked the Fifth Element best. But Proton Theory is good; at least it was listenable (so I don't know if that's good for you or not!)pheeleep wrote:

He might get your vote and he might get mine but he sure won't get enough to win. Face it, the mean musical preference of the voters is definately askew.plunge wrote:Bring on the Hip Hop. If you can bust a rhyme or work the tables and it sounds good, you'll get my vote.
This is just not true, unfortunately. His entry to the last free comp was the best tune I've heard from him yet but it still wasn't in the top 10.bluedad wrote:well, if you do something along the line of the stuff on your soundclick page, I think you'll do well.
Pheeleep, listen to the tracks for the last free comp that got the most votes. I'd say it's with some kind of indie-rock that you'll have the best chances.

the pop/indie rock with vocal stuff does tend to place.
but as I said, I've won with just a piano solo, so you just never know.

I tried that last month!... Stuck in "Vote for me" in reverse at the beginning of the song and did people vote for me... nope... So the conclusion Is that this subliminal message stuff is a load of bollocks, in fact it has the reverse effect on the listener. Which wouldpHz wrote:how about a bonus prize for best backwards hidden message ???donkey tugger wrote:Is there a prize for 'best message'?

a) explain why I didn't get many votes
and
b) explain why there are so many Christian rock bands around. They were all probably listening to black sabbath when they saw the light...

Thanks for the insight guys..
Indie rock hey
I figured as much, but wanted to make sure. I just don't think I can do that. It's not me. It's ok though. The most important for me is to have fun...
Visa Tapani, thank you so much for your kind words. I admire your work so it's extra special to hear this coming from you
You, along with Miro, are my very favorite KVR artists.
By the way Visa, the song that you said you liked will be on my album ( minus Tupac rapping on it ). I'll keep you posted when it comes out.. you get a free copy..
Bluedad, I need to listen to some of your music. I notice you have a web site. I can't listen right now ( at work ) but I will when I am at home!
Okay, so this is what I am going to do. Some kind of trip hop/soundtrack song with me playing some real violin on it. maybe that'll give me extra points.. lol
Thanks again guys, and I didn't mean to hijack this thread and have you guys talk about my music
Certainly made my day though..

When at college, my then girlfirend did a project on Backward masking as part of her Psychology degree. This was just after the big Black Sabbath case, etc. She found no statistical truth in it...
So far as 'So many Christian Rock bands around'..? Are there? Any more than there normally are? I would love that to be true. I'm often out of sync with what is hip...
