would have liked to seen this with polyphonic unison like synth1 and Charlatan with the same low CPU usage.

We did look at it, but we took the approach that in most cases a nice chorus effect you can slap on it achieves the same desired result (not the same sound, but same goal) and without costing additional voices.

What I did not really understand is this "Defiant Algo Presets" pack. I did not see any general randomn preset generation function in Defiant so how:

The algorithm is based on controlled randomization of all parameters and provides countless neat presets and starting points.

And what exactly is this:

The included program can be used to re-generate unique sets of thousands of presets at a click of a button

Is it kind of presets generating preset ? Just a lack of imagination what this is all about but it really sound very interesting.

Bougth it, installed it, where the hell is this exe and where are the new presets ? Cant find anything in the defiant wt2 folder in my vst directory ?

No installation instruction, no small txt file with any explanations, just the install exe.

And how to load the regular preset banks, I only see the one factory preset bank with the different categorys and dont find anyway to load one of the other banks of the banks folder.

there is actually info in the manual about the preset system

... but you are right though, maybe with the expansions a bit of more info should have been included.

all presets are stored in a subfolder the plugin makes in your appdata/roaming folder. extra presets, once installed go in a subfolder labeled "dlc". this allows the system to be dynamic and include everything, there is no need to load "banks". If you are installing the extra presets on the fly while the plugin is open, right click on the preset manager (where the preset name shows) to refresh the folders.

Regarding specificly the algorithmic content, the exe to re-generate is placed in that subfolder as well ie in appdata/roaming/ocean swift/defiant wt/presets/-dlc-/

Yes, I have looked into the manual and after clicking with the right mouse button on the preset name the folder "dlc" now appears, thats solved.

But the manual tells nothing about this exe running outside of the plug to generate new presets, have not found that, where is that installed to ?

And still:

dont find anyway to load one of the other banks of the banks folder.

How should they be "installed" ? I have run the installer but it does not seem to install the presets that are in the preset banks folder (factory a - factory d, a faxinadu bank, several other banks are in that folder). Do I have to copy them manually to appdata/roaming ?

I have another problem I am not sure where the root cause is, general incompatibility or something else:

- most of the presets make a terrible noise only when loaded that let my headphone burst and make my daw just turn off the plug as it recognizes that as bug. Any hint on this ?

oh you are using the v2 presets with v1 defiant!!!!!!!!!!!!!

plz install defiant v2... or so it seems? this seems like the confusion - v1 and v2 presets are not compatible

No, I have installed defiant v2 first (actual download from this week), and then I wondered that there are only the categorized presets but none of the preset banks in this folder. As I said, after right-clicking on the preset name the "dlc" is there but not the other banks.

but when you mean "the other banks" just to be clear - the old banks that loaded in v1 are gone, they do not work with v2.

when you did a clean v2 install, you don't have over 100 (new) presets showing in the synth?
